Team members face off each other in the Knockout round. It’s like the Battle Rounds, except the hopefuls will sing solos. The coach pairs team members together. After they sing a song of their choosing, the coach decides who to send home.

By the end of the Knockout Rounds, 40 will become 20. It begins on Monday at 8/7c pm on NBC.

    I thought that this round was a good idea, since it would give viewers a chance to get to know the contestants.  But, having them face off against their teammates again makes no sense.  This round should involve the public vote, and should pit all of the singers against one another.

    I think that’s what the live show does.  The Knockout round shows who can handle the pressure and who will fold.  Ultimately the coaches need to pick who fits best on their teams and then the voters decide who is the best from those contestants.  This isn’t much different than X-Factor judge’s house performances.

    Vote for 40 people? that would be almost bad as AGT. lol

    It’s like Green Mile, they will do their last performance and the [s]producers[/s] judges will pretend they chose based on their performances.

    THis time its just too many rounds. The Battle Round is okay with the steal. But they should make the Knock Out rounds. Just make the 10 singers sing for each judges then the judges choose their top 5.

    Basically we will see a very short live round with Top 20, top 12, top 8 then top 4. Or Top 20, Top 8 then top 4.

    I assume those who did not have their Battle Rounds televised are at a disadvantage – ? I also assume tptb look at ITunes sales…

    We have to consider the format – the judges are competing against each other so they have a right to choose their final contestants to put in front of America.
    At this point the contestants are still singing for their coaches to see who gets to go to the big show. 

    I look forward to more twists in future seasons.  Mark Burnett constantly changes things up on Survivor and this is what – Season 326 ?!!? LOL
    Seriously, the man knows what he is doing and whatever seems not to work this season, he will tweak !!   However, I don’t think the public should vote until the coaches have finished their job and we’re not there yet.   I agree with “waiting” that the Knockout round shows who can really hold up under pressure and give consistently awesome performances.

    Depends when they were filmed. Typically, the Audition Rounds and Battle Rounds are each filmed during a couple of days a couple of months before the show airs. If the Knockout round was filmed the same way, they may have occurred before people started buying songs on iTunes.
