Do you remember Rebecca Loebe from The Voice season 1? Don’t feel bad, neither did I, until I was reminded that she wowed the coaches with a haunting cover of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are.”

And then I still didn’t really remember her, so I looked her up on Wikipedia. She was on Team Adam and was eliminated during the Battle Round. What can I say. The Voice alums all run together for me, unless they finished pretty high in the competition.

Anyhoo. Rebecca got a nice writeup at American Songwriter about her new single “Circus Heart.” Watch the music video below. It’s pretty decent as far as songs with a female folky vibe go.

Thanks for posting this MJ. I remember her really well because she and her opponent performed Radiohead’s “Creep”, and it was one of the best duets that season. I think Adam regretted pairing those two together. She has a nice voice.

I remember Rebecca very well.  That Nirvana cover left me spellbound.  I listened to it constantly for awhile.  It was haunting.  When Rebecca was eliminated, I was done with the show and haven’t watched it since.  I always felt that Rebecca would continue to perfect her art.  As for this song?  I don’t love it yet there’s something about it that I find appealing.  I do think she’s very talented.

I loved her on the Voice…….loved her version of Come as you Are and I thought she sounded great on Creep.   This is not the kind of song I expected from her.   I think I expected her to sing something darker…..less cheerful…..I don’t really like the song.

She was my early favorite on The Voice. I was bummed when she got eliminated. I have her cover of Come as You Are on my iPod — it’s one of the few songs from The Voice contestants I bothered to get.

This is way different from what she did on the show, but the article says her last album did well on the Americana charts, so I guess she decided that direction was her best bet.

The song’s ok and the video is kinda cute.

I remember Rebecca quite well. I, too, purchased her Nirvana cover immediately after she performed it on XF and listen to it occasionally on my iPod. (one of only 2 reality singing competition covers that I’ve ever spent $$ on–the other one of Casey Abram’s) I absolutely love what she did with that song.

Rebecca was the girl that was supposedly homeless and living out of her car during the XF audition process. Although I don’t like this song at all and am surprised at the music direction she is taking (I was expecting very folksy to show off her tone more), I am hoping this single is a sign that she can live off her music more securely, if her back story was indeed true.

This sounds like something Regina Specktor would sing. This is not at all the direction I thought she would go. I don’t particularly like the song either.
