The Voice 9 Spoilers: Battle Round Mentors Revealed

The Voice 9 Battle Round mentors are revealed, according to sources.

Selena Gomez will be Gwen Stefani’s mentor. John Fogerty will be Adam Levine’s. Brad Paisley is Blake Shelton’s, and Missy Elliott is Pharrell Williams’s,” an US Weekly source reveals.

“She was surprisingly amazing as a mentor even though she’s so young,” the source said of Selena, “She exceeded everyone’s expectations.” Adam always wanted to work with Fogerty and consider him a “legend.’

L “always wanted to work with Fogerty,” the insider tells Us, and considers the 70-year-old a “legend.”

“John performed at The Voice finale, and that’s when Adam asked him to come back this season as a mentor,” the source reveals. You’ll remember that Fogerty performed a duet with eventual winner, Sawyer Fredericks.

About Blake working with Brad Paisley: “Brad was a good friend to Blake, and it was great for Blake to have him there — especially considering everything Blake is going through,” said the source, referring to Blake’s sudden and messy divorce from his wife of four years, Miranda Lambert.

The Battle Rounds, for you The Voice newbies, occur after the coaches choose their teams via the Blind Auditions. Team members are whittled down by their coaches via song “battles” between members.

Other artists who have mentored on The Voice include, Lionel Richie, Ellie Goulding, Meghan Trainor, Stevie Nicks, Gavin Rossdale, Alicia Keys, Miranda Lambert, Kelly Clarkson and more.

NBC’s The Voice returns on Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. ET.
