Sylvia really surprised me tonight; she is now my fav vocalist in Team Xtina; Cody still my fav in Team Ceelo.  Go Bam Bam.

  • Kevin Lie

Fireworks is a really hard song to sing and Adriana pretty much nailed it (compared to Katy Purry). She got my vote tonight and everyone else should vote for her too!

  • Kariann Hopes

    wrong name

I love Cody; and I agree with you re: Sylvia. I was ready to dismiss her.

  • Kariann Hart

I have really enjoyed Cody’s performances, but Sylvia really came on strong.

  • Leandro

I enjoyed Cody vocals, but his moves were kinda lame. LOL

  • Tuki

Cody is my favorite in the whole show.
Awesome performance. THe vocals were so perfect..

Christina proved that she was right to keep Sylvia and let go of Jocelyn in the battle rounds.  I loved Sylvia last week and this week.  When she sang Fighter last week, not only is that a tough song to sing breath-control-wise, it really showcased her tone.  And her tone is very close to Xtina’s own aggressive tone – which in turn really sets her apart from the other pop-tarts in this competition, whose tones are more bell-clear and thus interchangeable for me.  Christina is really doing a good job with Sylvia.

Love Cody also.  He needs to be careful to not veer into lounge-act territory.

Pulling off Firework live? That’s a studio song with too much difficulty to sing live, frankly.  Kudos to Adriana for pulling it off.  Unfortunately, Adriana has some weird facial expressions when she sings, the result of which are some unsightly bumps and dimples in her forehead.  When she does this, she looks disarmingly like a Klingon, and I find I can’t pay attention to her singing.

I find I’m more into Deborah when I am watching her than when I am just listening to her.  I’m more rooting for her as a human being than as a singer.

Nicholas is so fresh.  He brings so much power, joy, and excitement to each performance that you can’t help but enjoy it.

Unlike XFUS, there were no wonky performances tonight.  Just a night of good singing.  If everyone on The Voice is good, then this whole competition will be about song choice, the surprise element, and peaking at the right time.  If Casidee weren’t there, I’d say anyone has a shot at taking the prize.  Adding Casidee to the mix, an average singer with a made-for-radio tone and a bought-and-paid-for fanbase, certianly adds drama to this season.

Based on You tube views and itunes sales, I don’t think that Casaddee’s fanbase is as formidable as most people think,  especially if you compare her numbers to Amanda’s. Once the show is down to a few contestants, I really don’t think she’ll be at a significantly unfair advantage.

Cody, Nicholas and Mackenzie were my favorites last night, but I really enjoyed watching De’borah!
