Congrats to The Voice. It’s been killing in the demo over DWTS. However, now that the teams are determined, how many people will tune into see the “best of” filler episode? I guess we’ll find out tomorrow. I wonder if we’ll see any of the hopefuls that didn’t get featured except for short clips during a montage.

Let us know what you think of tonight’s show in the comments.

Once again, we start with recaps of the previous shows interspersed with judges talking up the blind audition process. Carson thinks this season promises to be the best yet! We can play along at home as a fifth judge in hopes to win a prize.

Adam likes to win and he’s hungry to get back on top. Clips of judges banter. Cee-lo calls Adam a car salesman. Adam says there is no coach he can’t crush. We get clips of Adam’s team. I guess it’s a refresher since it’s been so long since we’ve seen some of these peeps. They show Brian Keith clips that we’ve already seen. More Team Adam after the break. Yawn.

We’re back. I’m not going to list all these contestants unless they show us someone new.

Team Blake is up next. I’m sure it’s going to be much of the same. Judges dishing on Blake and then snippets of his team.

Cee-loo is up next after the break. Expect more of the same.

Anyone else find this episode lame? I expect people with tune out when the realize it’s just a recap episode.

Xtina’s picks will be rehashed next. Same as the others.

Now that there’s seven minutes left (including commercials) Carson is promising never before seen footage. Looks like more coach banter.

They follow the judges after the auditions are over. Hijinks ensue!

That’s a wrap. Next week is the battle rounds with the twist we already know about… the steal. How can it be a twist if they announced it before the season started?

By the way, my non-rent-a-cat named Little Guy is sitting in my lap purring as I do this recap.  Homage to Purrfect?

  • fuzzywuzzy

Aw… Is Little Guy really little?

  • http://twitter.com/cara_lee pj

He’s small.  Very old.  I inherited from my parents.  Total lap kitty.

  • fuzzywuzzy

That sounds so soothing … having a furrball on your lap purring.  lol

  • fuzzywuzzy

So, is this show going to give us an idea of the early frontrunners? Hmmm … seems like much more time spent on the judges than the contestants.

“Anyone else find this episode lame? I expect people with tune out when the realize it’s just a recap episode.”

Yeah, it’s really lame. There’s too much of the judges and not enough of the contestants. I want to see more of some of the contestants that got through, but they only showed a microsecond of their audition.

ETA: I am realizing though that this year, The Voice has some very good talent.

Adam has the strongest team with Bryan keith, Nicole henson and Brian Scartocci. But the true front runners are Avery Wilson (Team Cee Lo) and Cassadee Pope (Team Blake). Xtina is lucky she has Dez Duron and Adrian Louise.

quite enough POTENTIALLY good talent enough to fill in the next season.  keyword potentially, it’s really up to the coaches/production to give or allow these singers to sing the “right” songs

64 contestants is overwhelming even considering the montaged ones

I saw maybe five minutes of this, before I started to play ball with the dog.  I’m easy, but not this easy.

  • chillj

That sounded like a rude question.  There must be something about this show and animals!

  • kcostell

Hmmm … seems like much more time spent on the judges than the contestants.

Of course there is…it wouldn’t be The Voice otherwise!

The show was lame filler, but the reason they needed to fill the hour was good for The Voice. It’s because the first week they added the Wednesday show to compete with the XFactor (and win the head-to-head).

If this filler beat DWTS in ratings; I don’t know what to say.

    I miss Purrfect!

It wouldn’t surprise me, as DWTS has no new “stars” this go round. It’s sort of a recap/rehash/filler each week IMO.

The Voice really is all about the judges.  All they talk about is how they won or how they will win this year, not the contestant who will win.  It is very sad that people come on this show to further their career and so far nobody from the two seasons has really had a successful album.  They really need to focus more on the contestants, but as Carson said they don’t really care what happens to the contestants once the show is over.  Very lame.

I think the difference between Idol and The Voice/X Factor is the judges are part of the victory/loss.  They are so involved in the process, it’s impossible not to make the show about them. On Idol, we see a lot of the judges in the early stages, but once we get to the live rounds, the packages are all about the contestants with the judges relegated to their chairs.
