While The Voice 12 open calls take place across the country, The Voice 11 Blind audtion tapings begin TODAY at Universal studios. For those of you who would like to be part of the studio audience, tickets are still available for Tuesday June 28, Wednesday June 29, and Thursday June 30.

In case you need a refresher: The Voice 11 is set to premiere on NBC September 19. Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will be returning to the panel and will be welcoming new coaches, Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys. More girl power for The Voice! For the first time ever, the panel will be split evenly between genders, instead of of 1-female 3-male divide. Christina Aguilera was the first female coach to win The Voice last season with the talented Alisan Porter. Could the new season bring a two-peat female win? Blake and Adam are back to find new ways to annoy each other, and, by extension, the fans (freshen up that shtick, boys!). And speaking of annoying. Miley Cyrus! Will America be hitting their fast-forward button when she speaks, or naw?

As far as the open calls are concerned: Season 12 will air this spring. In the open calls, the show is merely casting its net looking for newbies to audition. The open calls are also in addition to recruiting experienced musicians and/or artists who have a presence on social media. With The Voice airing twice a year, the casting and auditioning is ongoing.

UPDATE: Season 10 winner Alisan Porter and her bud Paxton Ingram were behind the scenes at today’s blinds.
