So far, every song David A. has sung, he actually did sing on “Star Search.” I would like to see the young man challenged.

Jason Castro may not be TCO; however fans do have an amazing power. Look at the terrific Taylor Hicks, IMO. So, if he is really good, he still may end up in the Top Ten!

I may not be stating my opinion in the best way….but after Taylor (wrongfully IMHO) being labelled as a semi-”failure”, and Jordin not exacty burning down the charts…(neither are their runners ups)…to even think about who the hell would buy enough of David’s CD’s would NOT be a good decision at all. I sure as hell won’t even consider listening to a pre-pubescent singing songs about puppy love or shit he hasn’t even experienced in life…..

I can’t believe that in the 100k people who try out every year, that THESE are the “BEST 24 EVAR!!”.

Hopefully Amanda and possibly Michael will show us some real artistry (whenever they are allowed to) and will be signed…otherwise the IBW’s & teenagers will drive this show further towards it’s demise….

The almighty Most Talented Group EVER(!!!!!!!) aren’t being seen because these lovely pimped ones are being made to either crash and burn, so in turn it is one of the most lackluster Semi finals ever. We aren’t seeing any shining stars, anyone to make us go “Oh my gosh, I have to vote for them!” because they are sometimes FORCED into picking a song they hate.

I just am so discouraged by the semis! I’m missing these breathtaking performances.

And as much as I kinda liked David Archuletta(how CONVENIENT he goes LAST these week and then has to sing Imagine(again how CONVENIENT he sang it before). I’m such a purist when it comes to Imagine….I don’t think ANYONE can convey the meaning to it that John Lennon has, and I just have horrid vision of Ruben singing it with these huge diamond earrings in his ear and with no meaning. Argh. I think David A is just to YOUNG to understand the meaning of this song.

Does anyone else think that some of the “pimped ones” last week are sorta being brought down this week (Michael, Jason C,) and some of the terrible ones ( minus Jason Y) are getting more praise. Basing this on my first spoilers, even though they are minimal, I love them all the same. Do they have any cotton pickin’ idea what the heck they want?

My frustration with this show IRKS me so much sometimes, and yet I tune in like a trainwreck every week with the same excitement hoping that someone inspires me.

Like someone said above, when did playing the guitar while singing make you a one-trick pony? So I guess the show only allows contestants to play instrumentsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦every other week.

Now. Now. You are being overly harsh. That’s not how it works. It’s all a matter of context.

If you are cannon fodder who had great success playing your guitar one week, you will be roundly criticized the next week for doing the same. “One trick pony.” “Get out of your box.” “Security blanket.” “This is a singing competition.” “This isn’t the search for the next Guitar Idol” “You can’t get by on gimmicks.” “So, you can play the guitar, so what? Whoopee. I can find a million guys who can do that.” etc etc etc

If you are TCO, you would be praised like the second coming of The Beattles. “Wow, dude. It’s unreal how you can play and sing at the same time. It’s off the charts. Do you know how often you find a double threat like that? DAWG. You’re the real deal. 17!” “You have a real talent. Playing and singing. That’s painting with all the colours of the rainbow. Right in your back pocket.” “This is more than just a singing competition, and you just showed that. I can go into any Holiday Inn and find people who can sing, but being a musician makes you special. You just made everybody look like the karoake amatures they are.”

It’s a good thing. It means that he gets a lot of praise.
