Yay! Something new in DC-land, just like I requested (cuz it’s all about me, LOL). I saw this last night, and flipped out already so I’ll spare everyone now– I actually initially decided I wasn’t going to comment just to squee unless I had something substantive to contribute (hmm, still don’t, really), BUT I just wanted to say a quick thanks to MJ for all her hard work on this site– I noticed it was pretty late when this popped up in the commments last night, and yet it was quickly moved to its own post. Man, do you ever sleep?

On another note, since DC is clearly listening to our pleas for new cookie crumbs here at MJ’s, can we have the record name and cover now please =)?

Haha, I wasn’t going to say anything about this, but since you did (albeit jokingly), I have to agree–albeit lovingly. I love him, and love the fact that a WTF skateboarding moment is included in this too-short vid, but I have to laugh at his need for a little balance check despite being on the board for all of 2 seconds. DC’s good at a lot of stuff, and seems a quick study in general, but the skateboarding skills need a little more time.

But then again, I frickin LOVE the fact that he included a clip of himself doing something he’s not awesome at (yet)– this isn’t a guy who wants to polish off the rough edges and only show his best side to the world, just as he wasn’t afraid to show some frustration in his recording process in this video. This is the “rocker on AI” who told America that he’s a word-nerd, a ham who sticks his pen up his nose, cries when he gets emotional, etc. and we all benefit, because his vulnerability onstage is what allows us all to connect to his amazing performances. Look, I found something substantive to say about the video outside of “Guh, he’s so hot when he’s in the studio.” Though, that too. Heh.

Guys, just noticed that the controversial “gifting” instructions on the DCO home page is now MIA. It seems that the web nerds very conveniently and successfully diverted our attention to the “making of LO” video, while working on the adjustment. I say, smart move. Any fans who may have been turned-off by that particular post, have now been sucked back into the DC frenzy. DC’s peeps certainly know how to feed the addiction. They gave us a too short video, leaving us craving for more! LOL!

I had looked at his MySpace earlier in the evening yesterday and his friend count was about 122,000. Now I looked after seeing that he’s featured on the front page of MySpace for this video and his friend count is now over 125,000. Have I mentioned that his people are total morons for not sending out a bulletin regarding LO?

I’ve been getting conflicting info on this. I’m not on myspace, so I rely on 2nd hand info, but I’ve heard a lot of folks here complain about the lack of Myspace bulletin from David’s folks, while someone else (forget who) mentioned (yesterday, I think) that she realized she did get one upon checking her junk mail. I’m confused. Did one get sent or not?

Definitely not sent out. Bulletins aren’t e-mail related so it wouldn’t end up in junk mail. Perhaps the newsletter ended up in the junk mail.

He could have sent me a bulletin, and I wouldn’t have noticed. I get so many of those…and have yet to pay attention to the first one.

I think his marketing folks are doing just fine. It’s becoming more and more apparent (to me at least) that their focus is the record and not the first single. Focusing everything on one song is like winning a battle to lose the war IMO. I like to believe that he is being marketed correctly for what he wants to accomplish. Rock music sales are much more album than single oriented. I’m happy with how it’s going.

I’m on myspace, did not get a bulletin or eml or nothin’ about this. However, my little brother noticed it last night and sent me a link. How considerate of him! Otherwise, I probably would’ve found out here, before I checked my myspace today. ANYWAY. Yes, like seeing that Neal and Andy were there with him. Cool. This makes me want to know more about the recording process. This makes me want to work for David Cook. How can I help? This makes me want to hear more David Cook NOW. This makes me laugh. Hi gingerly! Yep, I joined DCO ASAP. And some more acronyms, I’m sure! I just never know where I’m going to check FIRST each day though. Sometimes I come here, sometimes I check DCO, sometimes I go to my myspace, then his. And he’s got 2 myspace pages: the official one and his pre-Idol one. They appeared to be tied together somehow starting sometimes during Idol, then they separated again a little bit after Idol ended. Fortunately, I’m friends on both. Yay.

ETA: What happened to the most recent Thank You video on DCO, the one where he told us we crashed Sony’s db? I just get blank white space the last couple or so days. And I see that the gifting instructions are no longer on the front page too. Just an observation….

ETAmore: DCO has the Making of Light On video and the Thank You video up now. Hooray!

They have both been up for me all the time :) I love him being happy…sorta makes me happy.

“cook sucks at skateboading”

On youtube there are several videos of cook plying skatebord in Lexington ky, it’s very funy, he couldn’t stand on the board by himself. He ‘s much better now, yes, still sucks.

Just search “david cook on skateboard” on youtube, you’ll find them.

It wasn’t a skateboard in Lexington. It was a ripstick. Two quite different things…not that you’d catch me on either.

He’s living a dream. I love it. I love watching him behind the scenes. Just wish they were playing his song more in Chicago. I want to hear it on the radio and don’t understand why they aren’t playing it.
