Ed Sheeran and Elton John will perform together? Can’t wait!

I love nearly all of these performers except for the country acts and Taylor Swift. Looking forward to the show!

So far, the lineup of performers at this year’s Grammy’s is outstanding! Still hoping that Kelly will perform too, but this sounds like a pretty “final” press release.

  • windmills

Loving this lineup! Excited about Carrie, the Lumineers, Miranda & Dierks (who should make an awesome combo), Jack White, the Black Keys, and I’m looking forward to fun. and Mumford & Sons too. Ed Sheeran can get kind of twee for my taste but I like the idea of him performing with Elton. Carrie’s been teasing that they’re working on something cool for her performance, hope it works out!

With only 10 performances (and 12 performers) announced I think they’ve only announced half of the lineup if not slightly less than half. As a general field nominee Kelly’s practically guaranteed to perform too, and I can’t wait to see what she’ll sing. I don’t think Frank Ocean’s been confirmed to perform yet and I have a really hard time believing he won’t seeing as he’s one of the night’s top nominees. Gotye too.

when will they announce that kelly will perform? as someone who’s nominated 4 times (yes, I’m including SOTY) in 2 of the major categories, it’ll be a shame if she doesn’t perform.

  • fuzzywuzzy

Thanks, windmills. Glad to hear the there’s still room for more performers to be announced. :)

“As a general field nominee Kelly’s practically guaranteed to perform too, and I can’t wait to see what she’ll sing.”

Won’t she sing “Stronger” since she’s nominated for that song? I can’t remember if nominees who perform on the Grammy’s usually sing their nominated songs or something else.

Really hoping The Lumineers win BNA. They are fantastic

  • Incipit

Wow, there isn’t a single soul in that line up I would be interested to hear. Which makes sense, if I think about it…since right now, there isn’t a single soul that the Radio PD’s are in love with that I would ever listen to.

Maybe they will add someone who isn’t Pop, Country, or this new Mumfordian affectation, and the singers who do that – Americana, I think they’re calling it? …but if they don’t, that’s OK too…I’ve already written the Grammys off.

I’m still hoping for Muse to perform. I know they just recently performed in the 2011 Grammy’s, but they are definitely great performers. Good to see Lumineers in the lineup.

    Hoping Kelly performs too!

  • heartly

Loving the lineup so far this year.  They still have quite a bit of the show to announce and the those seem to be coming out swiftly now.  I’m fully expecting Kelly to be one of them.  The only thing giving me the slightest pause about a performance slot is that she has a fairly big appearance/concert in New Orleans the night before the Grammys. I don’t think that would cut into rehearsal time as they do that the whole week leading up to the show, it’s just the travel and timing factor.

Won’t she sing “Stronger” since she’s nominated for that song? I can’t remember if nominees who perform on the Grammy’s usually sing their nominated songs or something else.

You’d think, but she could really perform anything off the album Stronger since that was also nominated or one of her two singles out now or even, though very highly doubtful, debut People Like Us.  She did a round of interviews right after the nominations came out and she expressed interest in doing something with someone else instead of singing Stronger, if given the opportunity to perform.  Personally and assuming she’s performing, I don’t want her to do Stronger just because I don’t think it translates well on tv or with an industry crowd.  It’s great in concert though.

  • Taylor

What song do you think Carrie will perform? I hope they have her mic turned on (or up) at this event. At the last one, something was off with her mic.

Excited to see many in the currently announced lineup. The Lumineers really are the new hot band. They are killing it on the charts in every way and they were great on SNL last week. Fun. is another group that deserves their recognition this past year. Good for Ed Sheeran, for getting a performance spot.

If Kelly gets a spot (I think she will), she might sing Stronger. Adele sang RITD last year. Maybe she will do a mash-up of Stronger and CMB or something like that?

  • Taylor

    oops, double post

  • supersonic

I don’t really care who is performing (even though Jack White is pretty good).  But I’m watching for LL Cool J.  Better be a lot of him sprinkled throughout the show.
