The Glee Project Actability Challenge! See the “Perfect” Trailer (VIDEO)

We’ve seen The Glee Project contenders portray emotion through song, but finally, we’ll get to see what the kids really have as far as acting chops when they film a trailer for a fictitious movie.

The trailer will take the place of the usual music video in this week’s aptly titled “Actability” episode. Actually, there is a group song involved, but it will serve as the title song to a movie called  Perfect, named after the Pink hit.

After watching the 90 second trailer,  I have to say the remaining 5 contenders, Aylin, Ali, Lily, Blake and Michael all rise to the challenge. Yes, even Michael, who so far, hasn’t been impressive.

The story is simple, and familiar. Michael and Blake are high school athletes and best friends who compete for the affections of Aylin, who plays a girl from a conservative Muslim family. Ali is Michael’s sister. Lily is Ali’s friend, but also responsible for the accident that put her bestie in a wheelchair.

There’s a pregnancy, a spiriting away by family members, guilt ridden angst, emotional confrontations, TEARS–the kids have ample opportunity to emote.

This exercise is new to Season 2 and a really great idea.  Glee star, Dianna Agron, will be on hand to coach the kids on their difficult assignment. I expect drama not only in front of the camera, but behind it as well!

    I love this video! I think they’re all great. I showed it to my sister who doesn’t watch teh Glee Project and she was well impressed also.   Sure they should just screw Glee and make this movie!  This really is a great challenge. Dialogue is so different to emoting through singing.  I actually have faith in any of them now (before I was a bit apprehensive about Lily and Michael.)

    I think Lily and Michael stood out the most to me, which i did not expect at all. They all did rise to the occasion, nobody did a bad job acting.

    It looks like a promo for a real movie!  Good acting comes across better in this format.  Nice move, Glee.

    WOW. I’m definitely impressed. I wasn’t expecting this to be so good.

    From this, I could definitely see Blake or Aylin winning the whole thing.

    But…I miss Shanna and Nellie…sigh.

    Very impressed with this video. I love “The Glee Project” so much! Please let it be a season 3.  Michael and Blake really impressed me.  Aylin was great too, heck they were all good.  I really don’t know who is going to win after this video. Ryan is going to have to put more than one of them on the show for sure. :)

    I will tell you who will win and why. Aylin and I believe it will be her only because Ryan wants to put forth the muslim teenager aspect.  It was clear and they THINK they found an out from the bad publicity that it will garnish from the Muslim’s who will not like how she will be portrayed.  They asked Aylin a specific question on last episode and that was “Aren’t you afraid of the push back” They will come out in the press if any back lash to state that it was Aylin who made the decision not the show.  This will be flawed because Ryan is the writer! It was already stated that Rachel Berry will have a room mate in NY and the room mate will be a sex addict.  Hello Aylin doesn’t that fit her to a tee? Disgusting if you ask me and it puts Aylin at risk.  Shame on this show.  I won’t be watching Glee ever again if she is on it. MY two cents. First time posting in a few years too.

    I’m rooting for Blake or Ali to take it. But every part of me says that Ryan will pick Aylin. He just can’t resist her “backstory.”

    They all did really well in this trailer though. I’m sure it will be hard to eliminate any of these 5.
