Fan favorite, Nellie, is gone, but the remaining 7 contenders of The Glee Project will keep their keep their eyes on the tiger in next week’s “Tenacity” episode, mentored by MS. Amber Riley!

Check out the kids getting all fierce and stuff as they suit up for the game. Maybe they could have dialed it back a wee bit this week? Gym class is generally not that exciting.

Does it look like that Ali wins the homework assignment again to anyone else?

lily over acts this one completely. some ppl had harder stunts than others. Aylin = hurdler while lily throws a dodgeball. Michael jumps through small hoop while doing a flip while blake runs up stairs and abraham jumps some tires on the floor. Abraham and michael have to jump rope while lily just holds it. I know she is fat but make her do something that isnt just standing.

lily’s faces were a bit too much and it did seem like she had is easier than the rest. So instead of saying how being 240 pounds puts her at as disadvantage, it is actually putting her at an advantage a little bit.

It’s really impressive that they did this all as a continuous take.

This entire shoot was one take, so that’s pretty impressive. I know I’m in the minority but I love Lily.

I love Lily too. She’s one of the only one’s showing that she wants it the most. I don’t see many other fighters. I loved Nellie, but she wasn’t fighting for it.

I loved Nellie too, her voice was flawless, and “If I Were A Boy” is probably the best Glee Project performance ever, but I kind of gave up on her after this exchange…
Ryan: what were you thinking during that performance?
    Nellie: I don’t know…
Ryan: If you didn’t like being Britney, which icon would you have related to better?
    Nellie: I don’t know

ughhh come on Nellie. Shot herself in the foot with that exchange.

But we don’t know how that was edited. It could have been completely different questions and they spliced those I Don’t Knows on.

Last time I’ll post about Nellie this season (until the finale!), buuuut, just saying her Keep Holding On was ten times better than this entire new music video. :P

Lily better be eliminated this week. The only time she’s ever looked natural in a video was when she was bullying Aylin as the cheerleader. That came really natural, lol.

Aylin, Shanna, and Blake are just heads and shoulders above the others. I would love to see any of them on glee!

A lot of people judge Lily pretty unfairly just based off her personality, which I  agree can be pretty grating, but vocally she’s among the best, if we’re just talking vocals, there’s no question that Shanna / Aylin & Lily are far superior to Blake,Michael,Abraham,Allie.

I agree; Nellie’s responses to Ryan this week were underwhelming (and I also didn’t love “Only One”, while I’d been blown away by “If I were a Boy” & “Boy/Girl Like You”). You might want to check out her tumblr. It’s http://nva.tumblr.com/

She points to this interview: http://huff.to/LsJ37q AND specifically references & explains a bit in a post:
“Two of the things that frustrated me the most last night where the “I don’t knows.” I feel they made me come off like I just didn’t care. The first one, about “what where you thinking about while performing”…wasn’t because I didn’t know. It was just one of the things that were quite frankly none of their business, and not something I was about to share. Even people on TV should be allowed to have secrets. And the second one was because I honestly had come to a point where I embraced being given Britney Spears. I wasn’t sitting around thinking about who I would have chosen to be, because it was going to change. I ended up having a lot of fun as the character I was given. “

The continuous take must have been super difficult especially with all the “hoops” they had to deal with: running, jump roping, hurdling, catching.  The show had to set things up for the week’s tenacity theme so I’m sure they had to do tons of takes trying to accomplish their tasks, plus lip sync, act & stay energetic.

That said, while they survived and completed the video, the final product is kinda fun but pretty BAD.  I thought Blake was the best by far (he wasn’t just doing that intense stankface thing, but also caputured some of the kitsch) while Abraham’s lip syncing was awful and Lily’s acting was way, way obnoxious.

  • wonderings

Lily has impressed me a few times (she was fantastic in the swimming video) but her tactics after the LCP were not impressive.  Crying, whining, sucking up, bragging, “wanting it the most” is nice but it doesn’t actually prove qualifications for a job.  Maybe it means you’ll work incredibly hard and be very appreciative.  But maybe it also means you’re manipulative and overdramatic.

Trying to blame Zach, touting her ability to act her way out of a box, working possibly weight sympathy – oh she tried it all.  She is ambitious and she’s damn lucky she had the best song out of the bunch.  Abraham would have arm-wrestled her for it, and I bet Nellie would have too.

Lily? Sucking up? Are we forgetting Abraham? “I come out here and see you in that AMAZING hat, you’re like God Ryan Murphy” etc, Lily does not suck up.

Regarding the video, there’s a scene that shows it took about 30 takes for them to get it right in the consecutive take, and it was Allie who mostly was causing them to start over.
