Ace looked great. I was surprised at how receptive the crowd was to Justin Guarini. Seems all the idols are being greated warmly. Brooke looks great. Has Diana morphed into Katharine McPhee? She looks amazing!

Can the Disney magic unite all seven Idol winners?

I’m getting ready to go to the front of Walt Disney World’s Superstar Television Theater and claim my spot on the red carpet — actually the carpet is a rich shade of American Idol blue — for the grand opening of The American Idol Experience. I’d heard all along that tonight’s event would attract most of the Idol winners. Word now, though, is they’ll have all seven winners together onstage for the first time tonight. Also, the attraction’s premiere performance will feature David Cook and Carrie Underwood singing their first duet together (no idea yet what song they’ll perform). I’ll post more details as I get them.

Maybe, Kelly’s plane was late. If she’s there, she’ll probably show up during the Private Party later.

Ok, Fans of David is reporting that DA will also perform tonight. Somebody from FOD was reporting from the blue carpet (as press). So, I guess we’ll see since he wasn’t originally scheduled to perform.

Oh, and DA mentioned he’ll be performing overseas in Asia and the UK later this year.

It’s 4:30 and the Idol motorcade is about to start. The crowd has been gathering for more than an hour, chanting “I’ve got the music in me,” “Fox 2! Fox 2!” for a local TV station.

Diana DeGarmo says all the former Idols are staying on the same floor of the same hotel. “it’s like a big high school reunion,” she says. Diana had dinner last night with David Archuleta, Brooke White and Michael Johns. “We’d never met but we automatically had a conversation started,” she says.

Tonight’s show will feature live performances from David Cook and Carrie Underwood. “He’s singing, then I’m singing, then we’ll sing together,” Carrie says. “it’s not so much a new duet–it’s something everybody should know.”

The attraction’s attention to detail impressed Carrie. “The stage looks so much like the real stage, it’s creepy,” she says.

What happened to the live feed? Was it only for the preshow stuff?

I’m back! The adorableness of DA was apparently too much for my poor phone to take because sending that pic to MJ took the last 5% of my battery. LOL :) Anyway, to confirm – Kelly Clarkson was not in the parade. She may be showing up later, but the last Idol to go thru was Jordin, followed by Ryan and Paula and then the empty car – signifing the possibility that one of us could be in that car next time if we come to the attraction and win a dream ticket, etc.

Anyway. It was fun. I’ve got quite a few more pics to send to MJ so I’ll do that now. My SIL also got some really good ones so I’ll post those later too. :)

I think Simon Fuller is using this duet as a test balloon. If it goes great, David and Carrie might be recording one in the future.

Wow, that picture is low quality, but so surreal. It’s wonderful to see them all up on stage together like that.

Yay! Kelly’s there! At least I think that’s Kelly! It’s kind of surreal seeing all 7 winners on stage at once.

Jordin’s dress is lovely (I never thought I’d say those words!)

oh a couple other tidbits. The crowd went batshit crazy – and I mean CRAZY – when Carrie’s car came thru the gate. And she is GORGEOUS. Oh and that dress was orange.

The crowd also went pretty batshit crazy for Ryan too. Who knew?? :) Some girls next to me went batshit crazy over Jordin. Haha.

You can tell Mandisa has lost a lot of weight and she looked beautiful.

I don’t know if u could hear it on the live feed but one of the guys who is the host for the attraction did an intro for every contestant. That was kinda cool. He said Lakisha has an album coming out soon. Didn’t know that. He also said that Archie is the reason that teen girls exist after they squealed when he came out. LOL.

Seeing them all together is just the coolest thing ever! It’s amazing to think that they these people were discovered over the span of SEVEN years. Gosh, I love this cheesy show!

I too hope there are some better pictures of the seven season winners. It’ll probably be a long time before their all in one place again Great to see Taylor in the Getty pictures looking so good. He’s my favorite with Cook a close second. Thought the duet was good but thought it might be more of a rock song since Carrie said she liked rock.

About DC not looking at Carrie ~ I have this weird feeling that they rushed this duet so that hilarity ensued when they had their rehearsals. And those faces they threw at each other during the performance, they were probably thinking. “OMG, we’re actually doing this well!”

Thanks for the wonderful videos! I was such a Bo Bice fan in Season 4, really ticked off when Carrie beat him, but she has won me over totally and am so impressed with her. Have never heard her give less than 100% wherever she performs, and she did that at the Disney thing. She and Cook sounded great together! Have all seven winners EVER been together before? That is all kinds of awesome.
