The episode begins with Tyler and Korey learning they must fly to Shenzhen, China. We hear a confessional from Tyler and Korey. Tyler does not regret taking out Brodie and Kurt with the U-Turn. They also make fun of Dana and Matt’s communication issues, and they see Sheri and Cole as non-threats. They also make fun of Burnie and Ashley getting numerous second place finishes, and Korey says they are happy to let Burnie and Ashley get second place again in the final leg.
At the travel agency, Tyler and Korey and Burnie and Ashley discuss tricking the other teams to make them think there are no more available flights. They laugh as they call themselves villains before Dana and Matt and Sheri and Cole arrive. However, all teams will be on the same flight to Shenzhen.
Tyler and Korey and Dana and Matt are the first to find the next clue in the Shenzhen airport. They learn they must make their way by bus and train to the Eiffel Tower. Sheri and Cole have difficulty finding their clue, and Tyler and Korey try to trick Sheri and Cole that they do not have their clue. They also try to lead them into the wrong direction, but Burnie and Ashley walk by and Burnie has the clue in his hand. Sheri and Cole figure out that Tyler and Korey were lying about not having the clue. Tyler and Korey are annoyed with Burnie for blowing their cover. All teams find their clues with Tyler and Korey and Dana and Matt on one bus and Sheri and Cole and Burnie and Ashley on the other bus. Tyler and Korey and Dana and Matt stay ahead, but Sheri and Cole fall in last as they miss the train Burnie and Ashley boarded by mere seconds.
Tyler and Korey arrive at the Eiffel Tower and learn they have a Roadblock to complete. They are at Window of the World, a theme park with replicas of 130 iconic landmarks. They will have to test their geographical knowledge by answering riddles about the landmarks. They will need to collect stickers and place them in a passport book. They will find these stickers next to the landmark that answers the riddles’ questions. Tyler and Dana decide to work together. They want Burnie and Ashley out of the race, so they hope working together could help take them out. Burnie and Ashley arrive shortly afterwards, and Burnie gets started on the Roadblock. He sees Tyler and Dana working together, and he gets annoyed by it. Sheri and Cole are the last team to arrive. Sheri gets started on the Roadblock, and she struggles identifying the landmarks. Tyler and Dana believe they have correctly identified the landmarks they needed to, but they get one wrong. They must go back and find the sticker of the landmark they missed. Burnie, however, finishes the task first. He and Ashley are in the lead and can now go to Lychee Park. Afterwards, Tyler and Dana finish the Roadblock too and can also make their way to Lychee Park. Sheri is still working on the Roadblock, and she is really struggling with it. Sheri asks help from a local, and she finally finds the merlion statue she was unable to locate. She is now nearly done with the Roadblock.
It’s time for the Detour: Commuter Cycle or Master of Arts. Commuter Cycle requires teams to maneuver on electric unicycles. Master of Arts requires teams to deliver paintings to a gallery and hang them up by exact instructions. As the teams choose their Detours, Sheri finally finishes the Roadblock.
Tyler and Korey and Dana and Matt get started on Master of Arts. They are given the paintings that they must deliver to an address. They ask help from the locals to tell them where they need to go. Burnie and Ashley, however, are on their way to Commuter Cycle as Sheri and Cole get their Detour clue. They choose Commuter Cycle too. Before either team arrives at the Commuter Cycle Detour, Tyler and Korey and Dana and Matt are at different locations as they begin hanging the paintings on the wall.
Burnie and Ashley arrive at Commuter Cycle. After putting on work suits required for the task, they begin practicing. Ashley is struggling with it and is unsure how fast she will be able to learn how to balance on the electric unicycle. Tyler and Korey and Dana and Matt believe they have hung up their paintings correctly, but the spacing between the paintings are not correct. They must redo them. Meanwhile, Burnie and Ashley decide to switch Detours as Sheri and Cole arrive at the Commuter Cycle Detour. Burnie and Ashley run into Tyler and Korey as they look for where they need to go. They tell Tyler and Korey it was near impossible to do Commuter Cycle, but Tyler and Korey are not interested in hearing what they have to say. “Whatever,” Tyler mutters. Sheri and Cole get started on practicing on the electric unicycles, and they are struggling with it too. They realize it’s more difficult than they anticipated.
Tyler and Korey complete the Detour and are given their next clue. They can now go to the Pit Stop: Shenzhen Library Terrace. Right afterwards, Dana and Matt complete the Detour too. They can also go to the Pit Stop. Meanwhile, Sheri and Cole and Burnie and Ashley are still working on their Detours. Burnie and Ashley are still looking for where they need to go as Sheri and Cole are still practicing. Sheri and Cole feel they are getting better, and they agree it would not make sense to switch Detours now, especially since all the other teams are ahead. Switching Detours would just waste time that could be spent completing Commuter Cycle.
Sheri is balancing on the unicycle better than Cole, but they both struggle more now that it has started to rain. However, they still decide to stay at Commuter Cycle. Meanwhile, Tyler and Korey arrive at the Pit Stop first. Tyler and Korey are Team #1. Minutes later, with Tyler and Korey still on the mat, Dana and Matt arrive at the Pit Stop as Team #2.
Burnie and Ashley complete the Master of Arts Detour as Sheri and Cole finally finish practicing the Commuter Cycle Detour and get started on actually maneuvering the path they need to take. They struggle, but they manage to complete the task. They can go to the Pit Stop too.
We see Burnie and Ashley and Sheri and Cole in traffic on the way to the Pit Stop. We also see Burnie and Ashley get out of their taxi first, but Sheri and Cole get out of their taxi too. The edit seems like Burnie and Ashley were way ahead, but we see different shots of both teams racing up the steps to the library terrace. Which team will arrive at the mat as Team #3?
Sheri and Cole race up the steps and are in excited disbelief that they are not the last team to arrive. Cole looks gobsmacked and Sheri gets emotional before Phil tells them they are Team #3! Afterwards, Burnie and Ashley race up the steps. Before they get there, Burnie points out how they don’t see any other teams and wonders if they could be Team #1. However, as they sprint up the steps, they see all three teams there on the mat. Phil gives them the bad news. Burnie and Ashley have been eliminated from the race.
