The Amazing Race 26 Recap – Episodes 9 Live Blog

A new episode of The Amazing Race airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap here.

The remaining racers camp in tents again before continuing on the race the next morning. Before so, we see them having dinner together and a tense moment occurs between Jelani and Jenny and Matt and Ashley. Jelani and Jenny are still angry about Matt and Ashley using the U-Turn on them and will seek revenge if the opportunity presents itself.

Laura and Tyler came in first place in the last leg of the race, so they are the first to depart. They learn they must fly to Amsterdam, Netherlands. All the teams get on the same flight and arrive in Amsterdam. Their first task of the day is a Roadblock, which requires one team member to find a matching Dutch wooden shoe to the one on display. Jelani finds a matching shoe first, followed by Tyler and Blair. Rachelle finds it fourth, but Matt is struggling with the task and even overlooks a correct shoe. Meanwhile, the four teams ahead of Matt and Ashley are biking along the Amstel River and must make their way to a ferry that will take them to Munttoren.

Next it’s the Detour: Soak or Shuffle. Soak requires team members to get into a hot tub that will float along a river and they must decipher clues along the way that will tell them where their next location is. Shuffle requires team members to play a Dutch version of shuffleboard and they will receive their next clue after scoring 51 points. Laura and Tyler choose to Soak and are already deciphering the clues before any other teams start a Detour. Jelani and Jenny and Hayley and Blair are on their way to the Soak Detour too, and Jelani and Jenny eventually find it. Hayley and Blair, however, get lost. They missed a turn that Hayley pointed out, but Blair didn’t think it was right. When they turn around and realize Hayley was right, she becomes very angry that Blair didn’t listen to her. Meanwhile, Mike and Rochelle are on their way to the Shuffle Detour and Matt finally completed the Roadblock on his 43rd attempt.

Mike and Rochelle begin the Shuffle Detour. Rochelle gets 34 points, but Mike only gets three points. They must try again. Matt and Ashley are biking to Munttoren as Jelani and Jenny begin the Soak Detour. Laura and Tyler finish the Detour and Tyler deciphers the clues to mean Ice Skating Rink. They get their next clue and can make their way to the Pit Stop: Museumplein Ice Skating Rink. Laura and Tyler arrive at the Pit Stop and are Team #1. They win a trip to Seoul, South Korea. Blair and Hayley begin the Soak Detour and decipher the clues on their first attempt too. Jelani and Jenny, however, have to redo the task since they couldn’t solve the first clue. They ask Hayley and Blair for help, but Hayley and Blair act confused too before receiving their clue for the Pit Stop. They greet Phil as Team #2. Meanwhile, Mike and Rochelle finally complete the Shuffle Detour and can make their way to the Pit Stop too.

That leaves Jelani and Jenny and Matt and Ashley as the last two teams. Jelani and Jenny are still unable to decipher the first clue (the word “ice”) and Matt and Ashley are almost done with the Shuffle Detour. Which team will finish first and make their way to the Pit Stop before the other?

Jelani and Jenny finally decipher the clue and can make their way to Museumplein Ice Skating Rink. In addition, they arrive at the Pit Stop as Team #3 due to Mike and Rochelle getting lost along the way to the Pit Stop. However, Mike and Rochelle do finally arrive at the Pit Stop too and are Team #4.

Matt and Ashley are the last team to check-in at the Pit Stop, but they are not eliminated. It’s a non-elimination leg, and they will remain in the race.
