The Amazing Race 26 Recap – Episode 12 – Finale Live Blog

The season finale of The Amazing Race airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap and find out which team wins the $1 million here.

Only four teams remain in the race: Hayley and Blair, Jelani and Jenny, Laura and Tyler, and Mike and Rochelle. Three of the teams are blind date couples, with Mike and Rochelle being the only couple with an established relationship before the race started. Which team will cross the finish line first and claim the $1 million dollar prize? Let’s find out.

The teams all get on the same flight to Dallas, Texas. Once there, they must go to AT&T Stadium to get their next clue. They land and get in taxis to go to the stadium, but Mike and Rochelle arrive there first. However, the other three teams arrive shortly afterwards and they all begin the Roadblock. The men on each team do the task, which is to catch a touchdown pass and then score the field goal kick. But first, they must be hoisted all the way to the top of the stadium to receive their playbook to know what to do. Mike attempts his touchdown pass first, but misses. Tyler catches the pass on the first attempt, and so does Blair. Jelani catches his pass on the first attempt too. Mike catches his second pass. Tyler and Blair are also the first two to kick the field goal and they can leave. Their next location is P2 Ranch.

Laura and Tyler do not know where P2 Ranch is, so they plan to follow Hayley and Blair’s taxi. However, both teams waste too much time in the parking lot and let the other teams finish the Roadblock and come out into the parking lot too. They all finally leave, but Mike and Rochelle’s taxi driver already left. They have to find a new taxi.

Hayley and Blair arrive at the ranch first and learn they must help wrangle longhorns and get six of them into a pen. Hayley and Blair complete the task without any problems and can leave before Laura and Tyler and Jelani and Jenny finish. The next location is Reunion Tower. Mike and Rochelle, however, are the last team to arrive and Phil is there waiting for them. He informs them they have been eliminated from the race. Mike and Rochelle finish in fourth place.

Hayley does the task at reunion tower, which is to rappel down the tower and spot the clue (a group of red and yellow flags) while going down. However, she mistakenly sees the wrong thing for the clue and she and Blair depart to the wrong area as Laura and Tyler and Jelani and Jenny arrive.

Hayley and Blair realize their mistake and now have to go back. Laura and Jelani spot the flags and know where to go, and they pass Hayley and Blair. Laura and Tyler arrive at the right location first and learn they have to drive a monster truck for their next task. Afterwards, they must figure out a combination to a lock and then unlock a shed full of selfies. Laura and Tyler are working on solving the combination as Jelani and Jenny arrive.

Meanwhile, Hayley does the rappelling task again. She finally spots the red and yellow flags and she and Blair finally make their way to the right area. She apologizes to Blair as they make their way there.

Jelani and Jenny are the first team to unlock the shed with their selfies inside. They must arrange the selfies in chronological order on a map. They get to work on that as Laura and Tyler are still trying to figure out the combination to open the lock. They finally open the shed and get to work on placing the selfies on the map. They place all the pictures, but they did not place them all in the correct order just as Hayley and Blair arrive. However, they correct their mistake and can now receive their next clue. They must go to the finish line, which is the Continental Avenue Bridge. Jelani and Jenny finish the task too and can make their way to the finish line. But which team will arrive there first?

Laura and Tyler cross the finish line first and win The Amazing Race. They’re both very excited and grateful for the experience. Jelani and Jenny arrive in second and Hayley and Blair arrive third. All teams are happy for the experience, but none of the final three teams plan on starting a romantic relationship.
