UPDATE:  Other than Jennifer Lopez winning in the Female Personality category, American Idol and the show’s alums were totally snubbed.

Simon Cowell won Male Personality. XFactor won in both the Reality Competition and Breakout Show categories.  Demi Lovato won Summer Female Music Star and Best Twit. Maroon 5’s “Payphone” won in the Breakup Song category

Glee won in the TV Comedy category. Chris Colfer won Comedy TV Actor and Lea Michele in Comedy TV Actress.

X Factor judge, Demi Lovato and Glee star, Kevin McHale are set to co-host the Teen Choice Awards tonight, on FOX.  Watch out for appearances from Jordin Sparks, Cat Deeley, Stefano, Chris Colfer and Lea Michele.  I’ll be live blogging the winners here. There will be performances by performances by Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, and more.

Glee, American Idol, The Voice, X Factor, So You Think You Can Dance, America’s Got Talent and Smash are nominated for awards.

Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina, Kellie Pickler Maroon 5, Cee Lo Green, Phillip Phillips, Carly Rae Jepsen, Maroon 5, Demi Lovato and One Direction are nominated in music categories.

Lea Michele, Julianne Hough and Rock of Ages are nominated in the movie categories. Ryan Seacrest is nominated in the “Choice Twit” category

  • Kevin McHale and Demi Lovato take the stage. Demi’s dress looks REALLY familiar.  The Step up Revolution dancers opened the show. Oh. The two grew up in Dallas TX.   Awkward banter ensues!
  • Messages from LA, Britney and Simon. Simon calls her annoying, gobby and irritating. Plus bratty. “I could go on forever.” And “I wish I could be there, but no one invited me.”
  • Yeah. This banter is really awkward.
  • Next, old footage of Kevin in is boyband NLT.  He’s coerced into singing “You Don’t Know You’re Beautiful.”
  • Zoey Deschanel and Selena Gomez present the Choice Comedian Award to Ellen DeGeneres. Ellen wins her 4th surfboard. Teens love Ellen. Who knew. Sophia Grace and Rosie (adorably) win Choice Web Star.
  • Dax Shephard and Shaun White give out a ton of awards. Vampire Diaries wins Choice Sci Fi TV Show.
  • Cat Deeley appears to announce that home shot “Call Me Maybe” videos will be shown during Carly Rae’s performance.
  • 134 million votes came in for the Teen Choice awards. MORE AWKWARD BANTER.
  • Child photos of Kevin and Demi. Aw.
  • wil.i.am. and Hayden Panetierre introduce “No Doubt” and their new single.
  • The Pretty Little Liars cast take the stage. They won a bunch of awards. They present Choice Movie Actor to Zac Efron. Choice Movie Drama goes to The Lucky One
  • Three stars from ‘Happy Endings” including Damon Wayons Jr. present Choice Hotties to Miley Cyrus and Ian Somenhalder.  Miley is a no show, but Ian brings a message from her for her fans.
  • Kevin Hart and Nina Dobrev present Choice Music Group to Selena Gomez and The Scene. It’s Selena’s birthday. Cupcakes are wheeled out and everybody sings “Happy Birthday.”
  • WARDROBE CHANGE. Kevin compliments Demi on how hot she looks.  They show each other their tats.  The crowd cheers when Demi reveals “Stay Strong”.  Kevin says tattoo’s really hurt and that segues into….GUESS WHO!
  • Jordin Sparks in a lovely orange dress and Adam Rodriquez and somebody from Magic Mike. UGH I AM OLD. I HAVE NO IDEA WHO HALF THESE PEOPLE ARE.  They present Choice Movie Comedy to 21 Jump Street. Jonah Hill accepts the award.  Stripper and Vampire jokes abound.
  • OH. It’s Paul McDonald and Nikki Reed in the audience!
  • Laura and Vanessa Marano and STEFANO they introduce Flo Rida who sings “Wild One”.  (On a Roll plays in the background. PROMO).
  • Zachary Levi presents “Ultimate Choice” to the Twilight Saga. He talks about the series as if it were The Most Important Thing To Happen Like EVER.
  • The Twilight Saga has won 41 Teen Choice awards altogether. SCARY. Robert Pattinson gives his surfboard to the audience.
  • Kristin Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner take the stage to accept their awards.
  • Victoria Justice and Chris Colfer take the stage.  Chris won Choice Actor Comedy. YAY. They introduce Demi Lovato who presents The Acu-vue Inspire Award to Amanda Cosgrove.
  • Lea Michele and Tyler Posey both won awards! Are vampires or werewolves cooler? Do you care? They present Choice Female Artist to Taylor Swift. She won 4 awards, including Country Song, Female Country Artist, and Movie Voice Over.
  • Bridget Mendler and Shane West introduce JUSTIN BIEBER who sings “Boyfriend/As Long As You Love Me”. He won 4 awards tonight, including . Male Artist,, Single By A Male Artist. He’s won 12 Teen Choice awards in 3 years.
  • Taylor Swift has won 20 Teen Choice awards. The most of any female artist. She presents Choice Movie Actor in a Sci Fi or Fantasy to Josh Hutcherson from The Hunger Games.
  • Chef Gordon Ramsey, and Justin Kirk from Animal Practice with Crystal the Monkey present Choice Summer Music Star to One Direction. They are also Breakout Group and Love Song. Unfortunately they are unavailable. But they thank their fans via HUMOROUS video, featuring the boys trying to put together a surfboard that broke in the mail. Oh lads.
  • Zooey Saldano and Taylor Lautner present Choice Summer Movie Star Male to Chris Hemsworth. Zooey and Taylor won Action Movie Star awards.
  • Cat Deeley presents Kevin with a surfboard for  Glee which won the Choice TV Comedy award and one for  Demi Lovato who won Choice Twit and Choice Summer Music Star
