Taylor Swift has been releasing a song a week from her upcoming Red album, due out on October 22. This week’s tune, “I Knew You Were Trouble,” is yet another story of a love gone wrong. It may also have you wondering who she wrote it about.

The song does not even feature the odd pedal steel or mandolin. No pretense here “I Knew You Were Trouble” is straight-up pop, with a few rock flourishes and a dub-step drop in the chorus. SO TRENDY. Check it out below.

You know, Taylor Swift, maybe you ought to go see a shrink about your sucky love life and keep the rest of us out of it.

I really like this song; the lyrics is normal Swift but the tune is quite different and sounds great!!!

As usual she’s no 1 on itune again.

Why? Songs like these have made her one of the most popular young music stars of today. You always have the option of not downloading it. Millions of others will be, though.

I’ve never seen someone who has so many relationship problems. lol &&&& this is not country music. I have no problem with her singing pop music, but this shouldn’t be labeled as Country. :)

    Because it’s “johnny-one-note.”

Not another one of these crappy songs, please!
What men in their right mind are still getting involved with her?

  • jlscott13

This is a great POP song. In no way is this country. I’d like to see critics try to explain how this is country. Please, critics, amuse me.

What’s with the word “trouble” this year in song title’s. That’s 4 so far, lets see…Trouble by Chris Rene, Trouble by Leona Lewis, Troublemaker by Olly Murs and now this. Am I missing any, personally I am having trouble (no pun intented) keeping up.

  • BonnieDee

She keeps trotting out this gimmick, singing about a bad relationship and prompting all the buzz about “Who is she referring to?”  So far, it’s a real moneymaker.  No reason for her to stop until people quit buying it.  I find it old and tired but it still works for her.

A Kennedy now. And he’s asking for a song.

I bet there are guys who will date her just to get a song. They might feel offended if they are left out.    She might as well milk this while she can.  At some point her audience will expect a more mature/complex perspective or they will outgrow her.   (Which at the rate she’s going seems probable).

  • julesb2183

It’s either about Jake or John Mayer. lol

  • julesb2183

Love Taylor’s songs, but no one in their right mind can call her country now.

These “johnny-one-note” songs keep selling millions of downloads and climbing to the top of the charts. In turn, Taylor sells millions of albums and is able to sell out arena sized venues on all of her tours.
They are already predicting Swift’s first week album numbers to be around 900K.

It seems to be working for her. Don’t fix what isn’t broken. ;)

  • justmefornow

lol. Don’t those Kennedy’s have enough problems.
And even though she sells millions, doesn’t make her songs any thing but fluffy pop crap.”Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo” gets a ton of viewers too, doesn’t make it Shakespeare.
    Enough said

  • jlscott13

    EXACTLY

  • callmecrazy

This girl needs an enema to get rid of all her “trouble” with guys.

  • babylockthemdoors

Seriously, of all the songs that Taylor has let us hear for this Red era, it is “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” that is the most tolerable. And to think that this song is already a big letdown when compared with the rest of her catalog. “Begin Again”, “Red” and “I Knew You Were Trouble” are even more underwhelming.

  • jobeob987

I actually don’t hate this.  It’s catchy although I’m a little surprised Taylor went the straight up pop route.

  • overthetop1

    She dated John Mayer?

The stuff she sings about really means a lot to a lot of people coming of age.

All her exes should form a band and write a song, “Maybe it’s not us, it’s you”

Bwahaha!!! Favorite comment of the night.

  • glennethph

I really think that she either has some bling spot of picking bad boyfriends or she’s doing this so she can write about being hurt and having the good will of being the jilted one.  After a while, it’s boring and pathological. Either way, it’s worrying.

Why are  you all dissing her.  Like one said she sells millions of albums (disc, whatever) and plays to sold out audiences!  Which one of you who left a comment have done that?  Just saying!   If  you dont like her music, dont buy it but only people who are jealous or have no life of their own have time to dis this country girl.  PS how many other artist have CROSSED OVER?  What, she’s not allowed to do the same once in while?  REALLY!  SO MUCH DRAMA!
