In which Taylor Hicks plays to an audience filled with hot chicks /fantasy. Heh.

Kidding aside…good song. Check it out.

Lord I love me some Taylor Hicks. I can’t quit you, Taylor. Great song – and you don’t look bad either!

  • Ladybug

Taylor. Lose the Soul Patrol guitar strap. Keep the car!

    (Thanks for posting, MJ!)

  • holeighannie

    Hehe, SP guitar strap!

Taylor is looking very nice, as is per his usual lately. I really hope some country stations pick up this song, it could work very well in that market.

  • weareallinnocent

Not a fan, but this is a fun song!

  • bestboy

Did Taylor have any videos for the first cd?

I could see Taylor doing a cross between the old Jerry Reed Show and Johnny Cash Show…you really need to see him perform for the full impact. It’s the opposite of many artists who can’t match up to their recorded performances.

    fingers crossed…

  • jersey

Thanks for posting, mj. I do like this song.

  • Whomp

Love watching this…aahh more than once! Such a cutie and a great song from his early days with Wynn Christian. Love the sound. Hope it’s a go all around!

  • Tess

Sorry…made it 1:30 into the song and nothing. I try and try but I just can’t seem to get into Taylor. I do hope, like I do for all the recording AI alumni, that he has success doing that which he apparently loves so much.

  • Caffiend

God, he is an unattractive man and mediocre-at-best singer who takes terrible pictures. I cannot see the appeal. At. All.

  • NJGirl4Tay

I’m so happy that Taylor has finally started making videos of his music. WRIR was fantastic and the new one for Seven Mile Breakdown is very well done.
Taylor has never looked and sounded better. To me, he’s handsome and talented. Can’t go wrong with loving Taylor Hicks.
Great job to the director Spence Nicholson.

    Great job@

  • NJGirl4Tay

BTW: Thanks MJ for posting this here.

    Thanks MJ.
Wooooooo!! Taylor is so good looking. He can come to my field anyday. The voice…Fantastic. I love the Soul Patrol guitar strap. I wish we could get a dvd of this video. Be still my heart.

  • hicksluvbug

Wow! Love this video! So glad it came together so quick! Taylor looks and sounds amazing! There were never any official videos from his first cd (there was the one of JTFTW where he and his band appeared to be rehearsing the song). There are some other really good sonds on The Distance that would make really great videos, too! Hopefully he keeps them coming! Thanks for putting this great video up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love seeing Taylor!!!!!!!!!!!!! :grin1_ee:

  • calimari

I like this song so much better than WRIR, that I of course prefer this video (even though I don’t like “country” LOL). I like the fact that we can actually SEE Taylor in this video, instead of just dark shadows.

He did not have a video for his first CD at all. I guess, as winner of Idol, he was not entitled to a video or something. That was reserved for the runners up that year.

  • hickifino

Thanks for putting this video up, mj. I enjoy Taylor’s songwriting and singing. His good looks don’t hurt either!

Fun video. Looks as if they had a good time making it. Lots of smiles!

  • aek

Love Taylor’s voice. Love it! Thanks for the video!

  • LadyBeBop

    Major love. Thanks MJ.

I do have a question though. Are there two versions of Seven Mile Breakdown out there? This isn’t the version I have (got mine from iTunes). Is there a specific single version of it?

  • abbysee

I find Taylor extremely attractive and sexy as hell too. I also hate Country music, well not all Country, but I love this song. I even don’t mind the SP guitar strap. I think Taylor might have found his genre Country/Soul!

  • Robin

LadyBeBop, this is a remix that’s being released as a country single. It’s now available on iTunes, along with the original version from The Distance. You have to search Taylor Hicks — as opposed to the album name. In addition to instrumental changes, this version is shorter (3:18).

I love the remix. Nicely done.

Very funny. Thanks for the laugh.
Did I mention how great Taylor looks and sounds?

    Oh

    Sweet

    Jesus

    Adam WHO?

    Thank you MJ.

    Heavy sigh……

Love both versions of the song and the video is cute. Fantastic car! I bet he enjoyed driving that around. I think the guitar strap is a nice touch – a subtle nod to a group of his fans. It seems to me that Taylor is very grateful to them and it is a nice way to acknowledge them.

Always thrilled to see Taylor! He sounds fantastic and looks great too.

  • neonorange

    Damn! He sure is purty.

  • calimari

I think I remember some story behind that guitar strap. Some famous “guitar strap maker to the stars” made it for him & gave it to him a few years back. So I don’t think it’s going anywhere.

  • JulieR

I was going to post the direct iTunes link for the Seven Mile Breakdown Country Remix and realized that I should not. MJ – when you see this comment, would you be able to add the direct link (that credits you for downloads) to your post?

Thanks for the video – it’s such great song and I love the little red corvette, with Taylor behind the wheel. :-)

  • hicksluvbug

Taylor appeared at a radio station (frogmen?) today and and sang “The Fall” and “Gonna Move”. It is on utube. Really great performances of these two great Taylor songs! He looks soooooo good too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • alliegirl

I could definitely hear this on the country stations. Very Good!!!

  • Crazymomelon

    Too funny. caffiend!

  • skylight1219

Watching and listening to Taylor, I can’t help but smile. He enjoys what he’s doing, which makes me enjoy him. And, yes,he’s one fine good looking man.

I hope he picks up some country fans. They are very loyal to their stars. I actually love this song.

  • claireb7tx

Love this man! Light and airy video…just fun to watch. I will take the man and the car.

  • JOJOSIE

Another Taylor fan here. I like this better than his first release from the album. I found David Cook last year and Adam this year but Taylor is still my first AI love and very special. I hope to get to see him live sometime again soon. :wub_tb:

  • davidlove

Taylor is my first favorite American Idol, and I still dig what he does. Glad to see some guy fans in the video’s crowd, as that what you see at his concerts – women crazy for him and guys that like his style and sound.

Although I’m not a country music fan, hopefully he’s found a niche with this Southern Soul/Country song. It fits him just right!

Didn’t a group of fans have the SP guitar strap made for him….? Trying to remember.

I put a link to the iTunes country mix in the post above…

  • http://jgrollersellshomes.com juliegr

Taylor Hicks revived my interest in music when he appeared on AI and his concerts, albums, and videos keep me following him.

Love this video — good scenery, great car and good looking chicks (for the guys); and dig the re-mix of Seven Mile Breakdown. Spence Nicholson did a fantastic job and turned out an A class professional video.

Thanks for posting the video and a link to purchase on your site.

  • Robin

Thanks for posting the link, MJ.

I immediately loved the remix of SMB upon first hearing it, and think it may be Taylor’s best post-Idol release. As for the video, I think it evokes exactly the right southern vibe without “screaming” country.

Um. Maybe not a good day to talk about screaming on an Idol blog.

  • JulieR

I put a link to the iTunes country mix in the post aboveà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦

    Thanks, MJ!

  • hoodathunk

Didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t a group of fans have the SP guitar strap made for himà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦.? Trying to remember.

I can’t remember the story exactly, but there are twin brothers that live in Alabama, and they make guitar straps for bands like the Allman Brothers and Rolling Stones, and I think they made the strap and presented it to him after he won idol.

  • dancingqueen

I think of the CD version as Southern Rock, the remix Country. This video is just fun and I wish Taylor much luck with this song. Thanks, mj.

  • http://airincaol.com coco

sounds good he looks nice the car is red but tater hix should be aShamed. I guess it wouldn’t be a videO without some chicKeee prancing around in her Drawers.

  • koolgurl

I love this song in both versions, and hope he does well on the country charts with it. Thanks mj for posting the video.

  • oceana

    Go Taylor! I love him.

  • MaryS-NJ

Thanks for the video, MJ. This is awesome! Taylor looks right in his element, having fun.

I liked Seven Mile Breakdown from the first listen, and I like the country mix even better, which is surprising because I’m not usually a huge country music fan.

As for the “fantasy” girls lol … yeah, but then some of Taylor’s previous girlfriends are really, really pretty, so maybe not so much of a fantasy after all.
