Oh YES! That’s lovely! I like the song but the video really gives it depth. I like the noir-ish look and feel. Taylor looks fabulous and I’ll always love his voice.

I heard one of the other songs from the album that was accidently posted on the Rocket Science website – a country tune “Nineteen” which is a bit gritty, unprocesses Taylor. I’m not a huge country music fan, but – again I love his voice and I liked it. So, yeah. I think there will be some surprises, or at least more organic Taylor than on his Arista release.

It looks to me like maybe Taylor’s taking a page out of Keb’ Mo’s book. Keb’ sings some “adult contemporary” tunes like this one, then some real raw accoustic blues, then some electric blues, then a bit of bluesy gospel and basically mixes it up. That’s a formula that works for me.

The song is definitely growing on me after seeing the video.

i know, marco. sometimes he has seemed so phony or insecure or defensive or something, i wish he would not even bother to give an interview. then other times he seems really sincere and cool. so i don’t know. i just am glad i like what is going on right now because i really like his musical taste when he is in the soul zone and i just want to hear more of it.

I have liked some of Taylor’s singing but grew to really dislike his performance contortions and pandering to his fans while on the show and even afterwards as he promoted his efforts in Grease. “Soul Patrol” shout out indeed! But, now that I’m away from his grating personality, I can acknowledge that he is talented. It’s going to be painful to know that he’s getting even a small amount of my hard-earned money but I do like this song and I continue to like his singing.

i was one of those who liked the song in the first place even without the video, which i like very much as well. it’s all a really good vibe to me. reminds me of why i liked taylor hicks in the first place. instead of something over-produced, this song and video are what i was kinda hoping for from post-idol taylor hicks. i’m glad clive davis et al got out of his way. i do think they meant well but those people are in a different head space.

i can really say i love a lot of music out there right now, and back then, my mp3 player has whiplash going back and forth from TI, John Denver, Kanye West, Duffy, The Flaming Lips, Donna Summer, Estelle, Beck, Brightback Morning Light, Queen, Britney Spears, Seal, Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks, Eminem, etc., and I really think there is room today for this old-school soul, like Curtis Mayfield or Sam Cooke sound. there is an aching purity about this kind of music. even contemporary r&b can get too busy sometimes.

the arrangement on this song is so sparse and warm and you can hear every note and the spaces in between. and his sweet raspy voice is just perfect for this sound. the tenor sax is airy and sexy and the organ is cool. it’s a simple tune, sung and played lovingly, and that’s what i like about it.

I like the song; I love the video. Yes, it’s dark, but that adds to the mystery of the man singing and then walking the snowy streets. It’s a fine effort for a first video. I hope it gets seen by many more people than just the SP. Thanks, MJ, for putting it here. You do a great job of covering all of the idols – when there is something to cover.

I rather think that the CD will have a little something for everyone. (Even you, Dingo!! Nice to see you here again!)

Hi to all my Taylor peeps. Its good to be home. Please just let the CD be a decent one. No phoney baloney sounding Taylor just the real deal with at least one gravel tune.

Why is it that men just keep on getting better looking until their 60′s and I hit the wall at 42. Why is that? Anyway, he looks ridiculously handsome IMO. Veeeery niiiice.

I think the song is just OK, but the video was beautifully done as he cast a lonely vibe of someone longing for the closeness shared by the elderly couple. The girl at the end leaves just enough to the imagination. Just a great job on his foray into the world of video.

Just left me wanting some real Taylor which Im hopeful I will get on the CD.

You know it Dingo, this album is key…patiently waiting. It’s been 3 long years, just a few more weeks to go Lord please let there be a good song on the new album, lol.

OK Mr Rabbit, whats wrong with me is that Im looking for that groove, the raspy “souly” thing I saw on Idol.

Whats wrong with you is…….well nothing. The vid was effing awesome. Not the vid so much as you and you looked MAH-velous! Holy crap, I just rummaged through my closet like the roadrunner throwing shit around looking for my SP hoodie, SP T shirt and SP baseball cap. God Im a freak.

With that video I could forgive any crappy song but the song wasnt really crappy. Just left me wanting some real Taylor which Im hopeful I will get on the CD.
