It's just that, for completely non-musical me, that I've always been astounded that the performer, be it Dylan, Lennon, or Hicks or blues guy on the corner can do it. My attempts to play an instrument have required total concentration, so doing 2 different ones at once, even though harp is sort of just "breathing", is just an impossibility. Gingerly, I realize that playing harmonica & guitar simulataneously is common. It seems this could have been any bar performance in the pre-Idol days, and that gives me a kick. I don't know what's in his head these days, but he just seems happier and more natural. I do think that whatever happens in his career, he is in a good place and at peace with himself and his music, and that is nice to see. Sudden fame can be a wild ride, at least that's what it looks like from the outside, so it's nice to see somebody land on their feet after some bumpy patches. For the record, I liked the recent snippet of his new song too and think this upcoming album will be something I can get into. I liked this performance. I always liked this song a lot.
