Tate Stevens – Holler If You’re With Me – Official Pepsi Video

Tate Stevens plays at an out door party, while country fans get wasted on beer. So incredibly novel! Not. I hope the music Tate is recording isn’t this super-cliched and generic.

Tate’s Pepsi-sponsored music video is part of the X Factor winner’s prize package, that also included a 5 million dollar recording contract. The video will premiere in a commercial break during Sunday’s Grammy Awards telecast on CBS.

According to a tweet from country star, John Rich, Tate’s new single is titled “Power of a Love Song” written by Bradley Gaskin, Jeremy Bussey, and Mark Johnson.

Pepsi has already posted the video on youtube:

Good thing they used blue Solo cups and not red ones – haha

Exactly who goes to a gravel pit for Pepsi party?  You could drink Pepsi at home in your parent’s basement. Heck, your Mom will probably serve it.

Still, this is epicly better than the commercial they did for Melanie where she got a mild-supporting role to Elton and a bunch of other people acting goofy – and she had to sing a cover.

“Exactly who goes to a gravel pit for Pepsi party? ”

Is that where all of that dust was coming from? lol It seemed weird that there was so much dust, starting from the moment that the cars were driving up to the clouds of dust surrounding the partiers and band. What a bizarre (and unhealthy?) place to hold a party (or shoot a video?).

Now, we just need a video and single from Fifth Harmony!

I think I prefer the story-telling country songs over the “LET’S PARTY GET CRUNK YEAAAAAH GET BITCHES” country songs.

Yeah I realized I was doing stereotypical mainstream rap songs. Same thing pretty much.

Holler if you’re with me? Ok… Nice to see him branching out and trying something different.

and if it was true country, it would be Holler if your with me. :)

Watched the video and thought it was really good. Kind of pleasantly surprised. Great promo for Tate to show this at the commercial break at the Grammys as that has a huge audience. Much better video than Melanie’s

I think this video has potential. And the song. It really is just going to come down to marketing Tate as an artist. The video may be a little on the lame side because they needed a way to incorporate Pepsi into it, but I’m going to give Tate a being chance in the music industry than Melanie. (She really just needed to go into the dance genre of music…its where she was doing some-what okay on the charts!)

I tried to listen to the song and could only force myself to get through a minute. Tate has a solid voice but I’ve had it up to here with poorly written skeezy party rocking country :

I loved Bradley Gaskin’s Mr. Bartender so I’m hopeful Tate’s real debut single will be a better song.

Is it just me, or is Tate the oldest person partying in the gravel pit? Maybe he’s meant to be one of the kid’s dads and they are just partying in the family’s un-landscaped backyard

LOL. This. Plus a bunch of other things like cliche lyrics, generic singing, produced-by-the-numbers…

    Ah. No.

I tried to listen to the song and could only force myself to get through a minute.

But… but… that means you missed Stevens’ final “holler if you’re with me,” delivered in ominous tones that suggest the non-hollerers’ bodies will be found in the quarry, days from now, when the cadaver dogs show up. The only other traces of human presence will be some crumpled blue Solo cups and an empty Pepsi bottle.

The video doesn’t exactly break new artistic ground, but it’s polished enough to imply that somebody in charge gave a sh*t, which is an improvement on Amaro’s launch. Baby steps, baby steps…

I hope I don’t have to hear this again.  The video looks good though.

I didn’t even see the commercial last night. I turned the channel for a minute after Taylor Swift’s performance and when I turned back they were showing a some other commercial.

So is this or isn’t this his first official single? There seems to be conflicting info.

This song is pretty good for being rushed. The reason it was rushed was because it needed to be done in time for the Grammy’s. Only reason. The rest of his album will be better, I predict.

I enjoyed hearing from Tate. I’ll buy his music!
