SYCO Announces Signing of 5 After Midnight

It looks like SYCO is determined to make 5AM a big success.

Last night The Sun published an article about SYCO signing X Factor UK S13 3rd place finishers 5 After Midnight. They are trying to sell it as an exclusive, but The Daily Star reported it a month ago.

It looks like The Sun’s showbiz guru Dan Wootton was served the news directly from SYCO. He claims 5AM are One Direction’s replacement.

Their career will also be guided by top showbiz guru PROFESSOR JONATHAN SHALIT and Global Radio boss ASHLEY TABOR. A source said: “There is no better label for them. If anyone knows how to find success with a boyband it’s Simon Cowell.

“You only have to look at the number of records he sold with WESTLIFE and One Direction.

“Syco has an incredible team of songwriters at their disposal to work on amazing hits for the band.”

Syco MD Tyler Brown said: “It is very rare that a group can sing, dance and perform at a level that 5 After Midnight do. We will be making a record that enables them to fully showcase their huge talent.”

Jonathan Shalit OBE is the chairman of ROARGlobal and ColeKitchenn.

ROAR Global represents various talents in broadcasting, music, sport and comedy. Their separate division Cole Kitchenn appears to represent actors and other creative talents. Actress Stacy Francis is Cole Kitchenn’s client. You might remember her from XF USA S1. She is currently starring in Celebrity Big Brother UK.

ROAR Global appears to have a very special business relationship with SYCO. They have separate subpages for acts from Britain’s Got Talent and X Factor UK. On X Factor’s page, they list: 5 After Midnight, Emily Middlemas, Freddy Parker, Gifty Louise, Honey G, Matt Terry, Relley C, Ryan Lawrie and Saara Aalto. Matt Terry is also listed on Roar Global’s “Music” page along with X Factor UK S12 winner Louisa Johnson and S7 runner-up Rebecca Ferguson.

Ashley Tibor is the boss of Global Radio, the biggest commercial radio company in the UK. They own Capital FM and Heart FM. I’ve been listening to Capital FM in the last week and they are giving major support to Little Mix’s “Shout Out to My Ex” and “Touch”, James Arthur’s “Say You Won’t Let Go”, Louis Tomlinson’s collaboration with Steve Aoki “Just Hold On” and Louisa Johnson’s collaboration with Clear Bandit “Tears” and her own single “So Good”. They’ve just playlisted James Arthur’s “Safe Inside” this week (BTW, “Safe Inside” is BBC Radio 1’s track of the day today, so things are looking good for James Arthur.). Capital FM even playlisted Matt Terry’s “When Christmas Comes Around” in December.

Finally, SYCO seems to be very excited about their latest signing:

To sum up the signings of X Factor UK S13:

Matt Terry was signed by RCA Records UK, Saara Aalto by Sony Music UK and Sony Music Finland and 5 After Midnight were signed by SYCO. Honey G got a two singles deal with SYCO. Her first single “The Honey G Show” turned out to be a major flop.
