Sweet Medicine – Jason Castro Sings a New Song!

This song brought me back up on the Castro bus. Sweet. I like.

Wow! Great song! It seriously blew me away. Wow. Off to listen a few more times. So happy for him.

I listened to it a ridiculous number of times last night. If this is what he sounds like without proper recording equipment, I might pass out from the real version. While all the Idols are beyond talented, Jason’s raw emotion gets me every time.

I have always loved Jason and his sweet, sweet voice. Like brie said above, if this is what he sounds like without all the mixing and fixing OMG! His cd will be on repeat for a year. I love the emotion and heart that comes through on anything Jason does. He is a rare gem and I have fallen again………..

I love Jason’s song. No surprise there. LOL. I also love that he had been thinking about his fans and wanted to share a new song with us last night. So sweet. I also love the “Learn it, love it, live it” thing that he said. Very few singers can make me feel a song the way Jason does.

I can’t wait for his CD to come out and for his tour. I’m stoked.

Darn – the link doesn’t work for me. I’ll have to try it on my home PC tonight. I loved Jason & have several of his idol downloads.

Okay this is coming from a dyed in the wool Archie nut. I didn’t get Jason on the show only Hallelujah did it for me….and only fell in love with his adorable charm during the tour. This song however made me tear up. It’s absolutely beautiful.

However, if Jason has written anything even close to a “Hallelujah” type of song that will make most folks stop in their tracks and take notice, I hope he keeps it to himself for now.

I had wandered away a bit. That’s such a lovely song. He’s really talented. I’m really looking forward to a recording of it. The live performance was great, and a recording will be even better–when he can play guitar and sing on separate tracks. I love his voice and it would sound even stronger if he’s just concentrating on singing while being recorded. Really can’t wait.

I wonder when he can tell us what his deal is? Mid-November?

He posted a bulletin today promising a vlog later, but I’m still not holding my breath he’ll give us more career news then. We’ll see.

Seriously though, I cannot deny that the guys stomped the girls pretty handily, especially when it came to creativity and vocal prowess. This right here is an example of that very thing.

Gosh, Jason is so funny. I really like his monologues. The song is not bad, his voice is sweet as honey.

Very, very nice! I was a huge Cook fan during the season (and stil am), but Jason’s taste in music is more what I usually listen to. Really looking forward to that new album too. Definitely has a Brett Dennen vibe here. He also sounds a little bit like one of my favorite young artists, Joshua James.

This is really good. I’m really crossing my fingers for him. I would buy his album today, too, if sounds like this.

:lol_tb: Yep – what gwen and abbysee said. I adore the Davids, but this is just all kinds of good. I really didn’t jump on the Jason bandwagon until I saw him on tour – I thought he was amazing live. I’ll be buyin’ this one too. These boys are so much fun!

I haven’t had time to read comments yet, but this is a good song. Way to go Jason. I am keeping my fingers crossed for him. I still think he has a shot at making it in the music business as he is talented, unique, charismatic and has a fanbase. Plus having those gorgous eyes….

Yep, not much more career news in that new vlog, except about more meetings with managers and other people and doing “really cool things” but I guess I’m not as worried or on edge now as I would usually be after a “no real career news” vlog. Sweet Medicine did it. Potent stuff. Heh.

Over the weekend, he saw Ray LaMontagne and Mraz, with whom he had a “fan moment.” Haha. I would love to hear his take on You and I Both…especially done like this.

I like Jason but that song is not doing it for me, a bit boring, the last 1 minute or something is all same and the same. I think the one he did in his homecoming is a lot better, despite the lame lyrics.

I like Jason’s influences and style, but I’m not sure about he’s writting talent. Lyric wise he can’t grab me, but he seems to have a good ear when it comes to hook, although I’m not feeling in this one, but I’ve felt it before.

I like it better than his pre Idol stuff, including the one he sang at homecoming, and I think it shows that his writing has really come a long way in a short time. Though I have no idea if he had any help or co-writers on this one. I actually really enjoy the simplicity to this one.

On TMZ, do you mean he was on again since yesterday? He was on yesterday’s version. The video is probably on YouTube, but it was nothing too bad. They just got a shot of him with the girlfriend exiting the Ivy. They only talked to him for a few seconds.

The lyrics are very cheesy indeed, reading them is even worse than listening to it. But at the end of the day he’s still young, I think he has room to improve, he probably needs to find inspiration in other places, IMO.

He is very charming, and I can’t deny that I like that about him. We’ll see if it’s enough to like the music.

I haven’t been here for ages, but I stopped by and had to listen to the new Castro tune. I found his rambling monologue at the beginning to be almost annoying, but once he starts singing it is like he becomes another person- confident, smooth, polished, a pro. Hopefully a nice hint of music to come from him, with a little guidance he could put out a nice little CD.

I just hope to God his album is not a 15-track ode to Mandy. Variety is key.

Sweet, simple, painfully honest…I think it suits him very well. It seems that he’s got a good handle on who he is, artistically, and that’s half the battle right there. Very nice.

I’m starting to realize that music’s what I really like about Jason. When his vblogs are just inconsequential ramblings, I always feel like I’m wasting 5 minutes of my life by watching them.

This was different. More music vblogs please, Jason!

I would imagine that’s true for all the idols prime. I think Jason’s ramblings are more meant for his hardcore fans that eat that stuff up and anybody else would be bored by them. Same for Archie, Sy, Brooke, Cook and etc. Unless you’re a hardcore fan, I can’t imagine anyone being interested by them going through the more mundane aspects of their life.

As much as I like this song, I’m hoping for some variety on his cd too. Though unless he does a self release, I can’t imagine any label or backers allowing him to release an entire cd of love songs. Heh.

The point of the vlogs is to communicate with fans and to let them in on what has happened in his life since he posted the last one. It’s called “DATE NIGHT” after all. I would not expect him to make any major career announcements on any of the Date Night vlogs.

Lots of his fans like to hear/see him “ramble” or sing or anything that he wants to do. It’s just a touchstone. Most fans want to hear from him and he likes communicating with fans. Most fans appreciate the effort. I think that it’s great when artists want to keep in touch even when there is no major news. Just life stuff is of interest to a lot of fans.

When he makes a career announcement, I doubt that it will be on a Date Night vlog. That’s mostly for fun or just sharing. Notice that at the beginning of this video he said that he was doing it for his fans and that he had been thinking about the support of his “awesome” fans and wanted to share a song before he went to bed. His major career announcement won’t be made in his bathrobe, nor in bed, nor on a beach, nor set in “glow” lighting.

This is an ok song but Jason needs to get moving on the major news announcements. Once S8 begins, I think Jason’s 15 minutes will be up.

IMO, there is no real reason for Jason to give any “major news” until he is ready to do so.

During Season 5 people were posting that Elliott would be selling his CDs from the trunk of his car if he even got to make one at all. I didn’t stress about Elliott, I’m not stressing about Jason. They both knew more about what was going on than they divulged, as I think that it should be.

Elliott’s news came in January. I can wait for Jason’s.

I am glad that Jason is taking his time with this and NOT rushing to cram in and then get out a cd as fast as say, Kristy Lee? Good for him – I think Jason will be here for the long haul and not just for “15 minutes” I need to remind myself though that “Good things come to those that wait” or “Haste makes waste” and so on

And Purple I do love me some Jason rambling from time to time and seeing that face but this time I was like, please Jason, just get to the song so I can hear it before my boss comes by and says HEY what are doing?

Honestly, I think it’s a little too early to write anybody from S7 off. Like Gabam said, it was ages before Elliott announced any news 2 years ago, and things turned out OK for him.
