Again, she does not have to do every show! There’s no obligation.
Simon has said it numerous times.
In fact he just stated again in a very long interview today.
She was excused from the tour completely, but wanted to try to do SOME shows.
She can do one, or twenty!
And again, a lot of the acts have already missed performances, but of course that’s not news. No one wants to pick on them.
If you bought a ticket and wanted to see Susan and she wasn’t there, ask for your money back.
If that’s not the case, don’t worry about it.

She is a terrific amateur singer, but sheÃƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not exceptional in any way.

I just don’t get the big deal about her at all.

She said: “Susan’s really upset that she can’t perform in Cardiff tonight and she’s really sorry to all her fans.

“She gets tired very easily and she needs to rest.

“The tour itself is a really tiring process and she would have loved to have been able to be there tonight.”

I just don’t think this is going to fly. The reason given for her recent stay in “rehab” was exhaustion, and that was BEFORE there was any tour to blame it on. Something is seriously wrong.

The cruel comments, which are around, are so because they act like Susan Boyle is just behaving badly, and don’t seem to understand her awful predicament.

But, OK, I’m a bleeding heart…I felt sorry for Kat too. I don’t know how any of those contestants keep their voices together during the competition, or after. Kat, however, is no fragile wallflower….

Good points, Colette. Kat McPhee who came in second season 5 AI missed many AI concerts at the beginning of the tour. Were people having the same they-should-get-their-money-back discussions then?

Yes they were, and the discussions were scathing. About x1000 crueler, if you think any of the discussion online about Susan are actually cruel.

Somewhere in this story has to be a pool, icecream, an ancient boyfriend, and big sexy hair right?

Seriously though, if she is really ill, there could be repercussions for those involved, or they are building some kind of phoenix rising from the ashes mythology about her after she finishes the tour without a hitch with a series of bravura performances….certainly the screaming for the cat isn’t the way to go.

There is a circus freak show quality to the promotion of Boyle. I wonder if it is all staged to generate publicity or if she is really off kilter. If it is the latter, what Cowell and Company are doing to her is criminal.

well in the case where you have an ensemble production, other than a band, you are out of luck if one of them is missing, so long as the excuse is legit and I doubt few people are ever caught out if the excuse isn’t legit, like you go to a Broadway show and you could get the understudies in several key roles, esp during matinee performances apparently, when you were really going to see the star whose sick or whatever, I suppose in the case where Adam was the understudy you were blessed…..

it just means many people won’t buy tickets if they haven’t already and you have a lot of unhappy people in the meantime and you may decide to give back the money for goodwill, but can’t imagine Simon and friends giving back anyone a dime IF they don’t have to

I had the strange experience of seeing Etta James in Las Vegas, she performed for an hour, she was really on a roll when she suddenly walked off the stage – her own band looked stunned, I thought oh maybe she took an early intermission and she’ll be back, then it is announced that is the end of the show, WTF?

Now we figured well we got an hour, most performers are on for 90 minutes, if she’s ill, she’s ill and she’s had a lot of problems but a lot of the crowd were very upset and they were demanding and getting full refunds so my friend who got the tickets went up and got us a full refund, I figured even half the ticket price would have been fair, but then casinos are more mindful of PR

She’s having trouble with this tour even though she only sings two songs so she’s obviously in a fragile state over something. I doubt it’s just the cat but then I’m not crazy about cats so who knows.

She probably does need another psych evaluation. They should give Simon one too while they’re at it. I can hear it now…..”Oh, these ink blots are sooooo boooring. This is like having ice for lunch. How much longer do I have to look at these ghastly blots?”

Lucy: you are so right. The whole thing smacked of patronizing BS from the beginning to me. Gee, not everyone is glamorous and some of those dumpy gals can sure sing! And the narrative keeps unwinding until poor Susan Boyle winds up on “Celebrity Rehab”…..

And yummystars, you are right on too. Susan Boyle could record possibly, she could be a local celebrity. But that’s not enough to make a lot of bread off her.

I hope she has someone other than Cowell & company looking out for her interests….
