Survivor 33 Millennials vs Gen X Week 2 Recap and Live Blog

A new episode of Survivor: Millennials vs Gen X airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap and join the discussion here.

The episode begins with the Millennials returning to camp after tribal council. Adam and Zeke were blindsided by the vote; they thought Figgy was leaving instead of Mari. Adam and Zeke give Taylor and Figgy kudos, but Figgy says in a confessional that there were seven votes. It wasn’t just them. Meanwhile, Hannah explains to Zeke why she voted out Mari since Michelle told her she had the numbers. Zeke tells Hannah he just wants to be alone right now; he doesn’t want to talk to Hannah. He just wants some space, but Hannah keeps trying to explain. It gets heated as Hannah won’t leave him alone. Zeke and Adam raise their voices as they repeatedly tell Hannah that Zeke just wants to be left alone right now. Hannah says they can go ahead and call her the worst person ever, which frustrates Adam and Zeke even more. They’re not saying that; they just want to be alone and will talk later. In their confessional, Hannah still wants to work with Adam and Zeke since she dislikes most of the people in the majority alliance, and Adam says it will be hard to get into a position of power again.

Over at the Gen X tribe, CeCe tells David that she’s confident things will go their way in the next tribal council. Meanwhile, Paul boasts about coming back from the dead. Last time medics had to assist him, but he says he feels fine now. He goes fishing for the tribe, but is unable to catch something. Ken remarks in his confessional that Paul continually says he’ll provide for the tribe, but he offers nothing for them. Ken is baffled that Paul is in control, yet he’s on the bottom.

Adam receives tree mail. They learn that whomever draws an orange rock from a bag of rocks will go mingle with the other tribe. Will, Jay, Figgy, and Taylor all draw the orange rock. They will be leaving the Millennial tribe and go visit the Gen X tribe. Taylor is excited the people in his alliance will be going along with him. Jay is excited too, but he hopes Taylor and Figgy won’t start making out while at the Gen X camp. The four of them take a boat to the Gen X camp and greet the Gen X-ers. They all eat lunch together too, and bread is provided for them. After lunch, Figgy and Taylor try to gather information from CeCe and David. CeCe and David say that Paul is not on the bottom and is the person in charge. David even asks Taylor to be in an alliance with him if there is a swap or a merge. Taylor agrees, and David is glad that he has options if a swap or merge happens soon.

David, CeCe, Paul, and Chris return to the Gen X camp to tell the rest of the tribe about mingling with the Millennials. They tell Ken about how the Millennials refer to him as Ken Doll, but Ken says that’s something he’s used to. He never liked being compared to a “plastic Barbie with no penis.” Ken believes he’s proved he’s much more than a pretty boy, and he goes fishing for the tribe. He once again comments about how useless Paul is. He tries to talk game with Jessica, and he explains how Paul is the one who should be voted out. In her confessional, Jessica understands why Ken feels like he is on the outs. She already committed a strong six-person alliance that includes Paul with Ken, David, and CeCe on the outs. She seems unlikely about siding with Ken to vote out Paul.

Back at the Millennial tribe, Adam knows he’s on the outs of the tribe. He tries talking strategy with Michaela. He explains how Figgy and Taylor are running the tribe and should be split up. Michaela understands his point of view. She feels like she’s in the majority at the moment, but she still doesn’t like Figgy. She won’t be making a decision right now and will instead see how things play out.

It’s time for the immunity challenge! They must carry bags of sand bags through a series of obstacles and a balance beam. Afterwards, they will have to throw the sand bags to knock down blocks. Afterwards, they must use the blocks to put them back together to complete the puzzle. The first to complete the challenge will win immunity, as well as comfort items that includes chairs and pillows. The challenge begins, and the Millennials take a lead as they reach the balance beam first. However, it’s soon tied as Gen X catches up. CeCe takes a long time on the balance beam as Taylor repeatedly carries bags across the balance beam for his tribe. The Millennials keep a lead as they open all their sand bags as the Gen X tribe is still working on the balance beam. Jay begins to throw the sand bags at the blocks. He has already knocked down many pieces by the time Ken begins throwing bags. However, Ken makes great progress and is knocking down many blocks. Jay knocks down all the blocks, and now they must use the blocks to solve the puzzle as the blocks are all puzzle pieces. Ken manages to knock down all the blocks, and the Gen X tribe gets to work solving the puzzle. It suddenly becomes a close challenge, but Millennials complete the puzzle first. Millennials win immunity! Before they are dismissed, Jay asks Jeff if they can trade the comfort items for fishing gear. Jeff says only if the Gen X tribe agrees, and the Gen X-ers say no.

Gen X returns to camp, and Paul believes CeCe will be going home. He says she cost them the challenge, and Chris, Bret, and Sunday agree that CeCe should go. They all say she has not done well in the challenges. Meanwhile, CeCe asks Jessica and Sunday what the plan is. Jessica just says the guys are determining the plan for tonight. CeCe knows she is in danger. However, David and Ken want to put the target on Paul. They know they have nothing to lose since they’re already on the bottom of the tribe. It seems like it’s a solid six alliance, however that might not be the case. Jessica gets concerned when Paul makes a comment about how the guys would never form an alliance against one another with the girls. This makes Jessica believe Paul will always side with the guys than any of the girls. She asks Sunday and Lucy whether they should vote out Paul tonight.

It’s time for tribal council. The first topic of discussion is the visit with the Millennials. David says he enjoyed the visit and it helped him cope with the anxiety he deals with. CeCe agrees, and she also comments that she received three votes last time and it was nice to be in a relaxing environment. She also admits she feels David, Ken, and herself are on the bottom of the tribe. Jeff asks whether there’s  a chance people could make different arrangements to not be sixth or fifth in the alliance. Chris says it’s too early to be thinking about that. Before they vote, Paul says paranoia is little in the alliance of six whereas it’s more so in the three on the outs. Ken says he wants to prove his work ethic for the tribe. Jeff asks CeCe what she believes her chances are of staying, and she says 10%. Afterwards, it’s time to vote.

Jeff reads the votes. The first vote is for…
