Survivor 30 Worlds Apart – Episode 2 Live Blog

A new episode of Survivor airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap here.

Last week the Masaya tribe lost the immunity challenge and So was sent home. Who will be voted out tonight? Let’s find out.

The episode begins at the Escameca tribe. While the rest of the tribe is eating crab, Dan walks in and says he lost his underwear while out in the ocean. He now has to tie his shirt around his waist and wear it as shorts. The tribe is amused by this. As well, they think Dan is dumb and playing a poor social game too.

It’s Day 4, and the Masaya tribe finally has fire. Max takes off his clothes and go swimming naked. Max says he is using this as a strategic way of giving him alone time since no one would want to be around him while he’s naked. However, Max is not the only tribe member naked. Shirin takes her bottoms off and washes the dishes with only her chest covered. This creates an awkward moment when she talks to Joaquin and Tyler without any shorts on. They are clearly uncomfortable and talk about it, but they don’t say anything to Shirin.

At the Nagarote tribe, Nina feels ostracized by her tribe mates. Her feelings are hurt because the other girls didn’t invite her to go swimming with them. Nina is in tears when she confronts Jenn about feeling left out. Jenn and Hali thought Nina wouldn’t have been interested in skinny dipping anyway, which leads Jenn to say in her confessional that Nina is someone who needs to be babied all the time. Will comforts Nina (who is still upset), but he admits in his confessional that Nina’s outburst just put a target on her own back.

Back at the Escameca tribe, the tribe members play a game of basketball with coconuts. This frustrates Mike since he thinks there is still a lot of work to be done around camp. He comments on the tribe’s laziness, and this bothers them. Rodney says in his confessional that he may not bring back the most firewood, but he knows better than to say something that could start fights with people.

At the Nagarote tribe, Vince is bothered by Joe. He thinks Joe is a self-centered guy, and he confronts Joe about this. He says Joe was egotistical while building a shelter and it rubbed him the wrong way. Joe is bothered by Vince too, and mentions this in his confessional. Will comments on the Vince and Joe dynamic in his confessional too, and he believes they’re both threatened by each other. Jenn (who aligned with Vince in the first episode) think Vince “is on another planet and too no collar for his own good.”

Immunity challenge time! The three tribes are out in the water. One at a time, one team member must dive into the water and find a buoy. They must maneuver a buoy through obstacles and then swim to a platform. Once they have collected five buoys, they must toss them into a basket. The first two tribes to toss all five of their buoys into the basket win immunity. The tribe that finishes first wins a massive fishing reward, with the second place tribe winning a smaller fishing reward. The losing tribe will go to Tribal Council and someone will be voted out.

Escameca and Masoya are pretty even throughout the whole challenge, with Nagarote taking the lead. However, Will gets stuck in the water while untangling his buoy and cost his tribe a lot of time. “Will is having an absolute disaster,” says Jeff. Will finally gets the buoy untangled, but Joaquin is already shooting the buoys into the basket for Masaya. Escameca is shooting baskets too, but Nagarote manages to catch up with Vince shooting the buoys. Who will win immunity? Masaya finishes first, with Escameca finishing second. Nagarote lost immunity and will be going to Tribal Council.

At the Nagarote tribe, it’s time for them to scramble and decide who to vote out. Vince and Nina talk about Will and want him gone. Vince says Will’s exhaustion showed itself in the challenge. However, he thinks this would be an opportune time to blindside Joe. Will, Joe, and Jenn talk, with Jenn suggesting voting out Vince. Joe is considering voting out Nina instead to keep the tribe strong. He thinks Nina is the weakest link and should be voted out. Joe is worried that Nina will find the hidden immunity idol and wants to split the vote. Joe wants two votes on Nina and two votes on Vince. Will goes back to Vince with this information and says they pretty much will decide who goes home tonight. Vince then considers voting out Jenn, and Will confirms to Vince that Jenn wants him gone. Will goes back to tell Nina the plan. However, Nina tells Will that Vince wants Will gone due to his health. This angers Will and now he admits in his confessional that he is unsure what he will do. He says he will be the swing vote and decide who will go home tonight.

Nagarote goes to Tribal Council. It starts off with Nina telling Jeff that she was feeling ostracized due to being the oldest member of her tribe. Jeff tells her that that is simply the nature of the game. Jenn says that she has compassion for Nina, but says it’s a game and they are all on their own. After talking with Jeff some more, Jenn admits that she, Joe, and Hali are in an alliance together. However, she says what is important is keeping the tribe strong. Jeff talks to Will next and ask if he’s worried since he performed poorly at the challenge. He admits that he is. Jenn wants to stick to the original plan, but admits it could be her leaving tonight.

It’s time for the vote.  Nina receives one vote, Jenn receives two votes, but Vince receives three votes. Vince is the second castaway voted out of Survivor: Worlds Apart. Will, Jenn, and Hali were the three people who voted for Vince. Vince and Nina voted for Jenn, with Joe being the sole person who voted for Nina. Nina turns to gape at Will in shock and anger since she knows Will turned on her and Vince. Vince is clearly blindsided as he gets his torch snuffed and walks away.

And that wraps up this episode of Survivor: Worlds Apart. Thanks for reading and come back next week for another live recap.
