UPDATE: Listen to Kendall Beard song clips at CD Baby. You can also buy her album at Target and CD Universe.

Yesterday, I wondered if Kendall Beard could be a contender for the Top 50.

It looks like the answer is YES.

Joe’s Place, the trusted AI spoiler, has added Kendall Beard to her list of   contestants rumored to be in the Top 50, so I added her to my list as well.

Also, please check out yesterday’s post for a minor correction to some information I received from a regular. No, Kendall Beard is not on the verge of being signed to a record contract. But I imagine TPTB like her anyway…

So far, the Top 50 list includes: Adam Lambert, Angela Martin, Felicia Barton, Jacob McKay, Jacklyn Tohn, Junot Joyner, Justin Williams, Kendall Beard, Michael Bartul, Reggi Beasley, Ryan P. A. Johnson, Stephen Fowler, Taylor Vaifanua and Terrance T.K. Hash.

The Top 50 will be whittled down to 36 by the producers in January. In February, the Top 36 will compete live in the semi-finals after being revealed in à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“the chairà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ episode in February.

I posted a link to that video a few days ago HERE. There were other videos of Felicia up on You tube, but they have since been taken down.

Thanks mj. I was listening to Kendall clips at CD Baby. Those don’t sound country, they’re straight up pop. Like even more than Taylor Swift. She’s got a cover of Reason To Believe, I think by Rod Stewart. I wonder if she’s transformed herself into a country singer for AI. Right now she reminds me of Kady Malloy in that she doesn’t have a clearcut style but can imitate any genre.

Now some may not like what I’m about to write, but AI is churning out these singers like an assembly line and there are so many AIs running around now that don’t have contracts and are barely making ends meet. I hope the upcoming AIs realize that the entertainment field is very crowded and the space is getting smaller and smaller to make it big. Every other year we read about contracts being dropped. Good luck to them all, but I’m not as invested in AI as I was years ago. I watch it for entertainment only.

Does anybody know what’s going on with Syesha?

    Sally,

You’re just not looking at it the right way. The question is simple – will I be better off with my current floundering career with no AI exposure or that same floundering career WITH AI exposure? The answer to that is quite clear.

Jimmy & Sally, both of you are right.

The music industry is way too crowded as it is for these AI singers to actually make something of themselves. Clea rly this show is all about exposure for these struggling singers to get to the next level. Even after AI, most of them have to start from scratch again. I only watch this show for entertainment purposes because anytime I get attached to someone, it never works out.

Yeah and when you get to the top 10, you earn money from the tour and get lots of free stuff on the show. They were part of a 50-something city tour and got to play to jampacked arenas almost every night; maybe not all of them will make it bigtime but I doubt they regret the experience.
