Spoiler Update: Felicia Barton Rumored to be in the Top 50, Emily Wynne-Hughes Not So Much

Felicia is the only contestant who has caught my attention (vocally that is) so far and im THROUGH THE MOON that she made top 50. i think she can make top 12 easily with that voice. awesomeness.

“Soulmate” is a Natasha Bedingfield song, but Felicia sings it as well or better, IMHO. I really like her sound, even though there seems to be a super-abundance of this type of singer out there right now. She really can sing, though. The other song, “You Are Near,” sounds like classic contemporary Christian Worship music, and appears to be the title song on her church worship team Freedom’s live recording. Looks like her hubby Loren (at the minimum) gets a writing credit for the song:

Okay, all I have to say is yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! to this news! So far she is the one that I like the best… hope she doesn’t crash and burn and disappoint me on the show like my pre-show S6 favorite did (I still love you, Brandon. ).

I really, really like Felicia’s voice and style. She has a great tone, and what a range!

The Huntsville Times seems to think that Stephanie Britt (ewwwww!) is in the top 50. It is news to me, as I didn’t see her name in the top 50 in the spoiler lists. (I hope they are wrong!)

Wow Felicia’s got that great pop-soul voice that Kelly Clarkson did her season of AI! I don’t know if she has Kelly’s power or range but I like her voice a lot! She does a really good job on Soulmate.

You know what, I just might watch this season after all.

Don’t get too excited about studio recordings, though. On Youtube, her vocal control is a mess. I am not convinced that she has the control to keep a song together from start to finish. With that said, her tone is very soothing.

See, I watched all her youtube videos (back when they were all available) before I even listened to what was on her myspace, and that was what sold me. She had up a couple other Natasha Bedingfield songs, Bleeding Love, Before He Cheats, Black Horse & the Cherry Tree, etc. Some big songs, and I thought she sounded amazing on all of them.

I really like what I’m hearing from her. I hope she ultimately makes the top 36.

I’m with Sarah on this. I, too, watched all of Felicia’s youtube videos back when they were available in November and personally thought No One was not one her her stronger ones. My favorite was Love Like This. She also sang songs like (to add to Sarah’s list) Love Song, Pocket Full of Sunshine, If I Ainà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t Got You….

Now, I’m not one to gush over big voices…but DANG this girl just kills it vocally.

In fact, I think I first watched her videos back when she was first put on the Hollywood list and you found that youtube channel and linked them all. I was really impressed with her then – vocal style, tone, range, etc. And this is coming from someone who prefers male voices in general and has never had a female favorite on the show (love Kelly Clarkson now, but didn’t watch season 1).

I’m of course withholding final judgement until I see her on the show. But as of right now, having watched all the youtubes and listened to the songs on her myspace, I’m really impressed. Hope she makes good song choices and can connect with viewers.

Well, it sounds like they have a good start with a few good voices. Now, is it actually possible to have 36 singers who can sing? Uh, maybe 30?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I was at a party last night and one of our neighbors said his roommate from college’s daughter made it to Hollywood. Her name is Kendall(can’t remember the last name) and she is from Austin but her parents are from Louisiana. They got the father doing the gator on film. He went to the producers and asked that it not be shown on tv and was told the one thing he could be sure was going to be shown was him doing the gator. According to this guy the parents were told to plan to move to Nashville, that even if Kendall didn’t win AI, she would get a record contract. It will be interesting to see if all he says is true.

Felicia is just so good. She instantly became my favorite after I was browsing VFTW’s Hollywood list and stumbled upon her.

Dude she’s got a voice i have been hearing her sing for years since we were teenagers at her church and she can hold her voice for hours during worship..so on that note she should make it if not then they dont really go for idols they go for populartiy
