Spoiler – American Idol Season 8 Hollywood Rounds Beginning Next Week?

According to Richard Rushfield of the LA Times, the Season 8 Hollywood Rounds begin next week in Los Angeles:

And as the clocks tick ever closer to the fateful day, around the nation at this very moment, 500 young talents are packing their bags and taking in final hours of vocal rest as they prepare to head to Hollywood Week; the top secret conclave gathers under security worthy of a president-elect somewhere in Los Angeles next week. And somewhere, out in America, the singer who will take the crown from David Cook next May is nervously wondering if next week will spell the end of his or her dreams … or the prelude to months of tension beyond imagination.

For this year’s spoiler list check out this thread at Vote For The Worst. There are 11 contestants on the confirmed Hollywood list as of this afternoon, but I suspect that list will grow as the rounds proceed next week. There are links to you tubes and My Space pages if you want to check the potential contestants out.

    I was thinking the same thing, then Richard Rushfield started comparing the Davids’ success in that article. Even the friendly journalists who follow AI won’t let it go.

    Anyway, off to check out the contestants.

    I like Loren Allred, she will be in the top 12, that’s my prediction

    Out of the 11 who are confirmed, I like Mishavonna Henson and Ryan Johnson. Of course it helps that they both have songs accompanied by a full band. I like Mishavonna’s rich voice and spunky sound, although she looks like she’s about 12! (Yeah, I’m old, LOL!) I’m intrigued by Ryan’s genre- Christian Alt Rock- that’s a new one for me! Is AI ready for an Alt voice?

    Couldn’t hear everyone. Some of the MySpaces have already been set to “private”.

    500 seems way too high though. That is typically closer to the number of contestants that meet the judges. It is probably closer to 150.

    I just realized that Loren Allred is someone we knew of in Pittsburgh when we lived there. They moved to Utah 5 years ago, and her parents are both classical musicians whose careers are music. It will be interesting to see what she does.

    I really like that Ryan Johnson too! He sounds great. Looks like his band is a christian band??
    I also noticed that Archie’s vocal coach who always did those interviews during AI, Dean Kaelin, his daughter is listed too. I went to her myspace, looks like she’s going the country route.
