A question about this wild card ? How does it work do they give you a list of contestnts from the top 24 plus 11th and 12th runner up? I never watched AI when they did this.

Question 2 So on thursday oe=one will get eliminated and onther wil be told your on the tour?

I love Danny guys, but I have to go with David Hernandez. I miss my little Hernandez…sniff…

Danny is a very close second though. I realy think that Danny has a better voice than .. ummm … the other child prodigy on the show … but never had the opportunity for all of that training. Makes me hope for him just a little bit more.

I want David H. to tour. He has a much better voice than Danny. Personally, I think his spunk is just a bratty attitude.

Also, 11 on the tour does make some sense, the voting process of paying for the votes would be interesting and potentially stop a lot of the teen fans from participating which is the core audience of the Summer tours.

It was officially announced that March 21 is the final show. They would have to vote someone off on April 9 the IGB Night or add that Thursday show for it to mathematically only have 2 left on March 21 final. Last year no one was off on the IDG night so this is really interesting how it will all play out.

It makes more sense to have the top 12 go on tour, with #11 and #12 coming out at the end for a group sing. What’s the point in putting so much emphasis on “12″ when the tour has “10″.? Plus you notice there is less and less emphasis on “the record contract” and more on “the tour?”

Tuesday is the performance show. Wednesday is IGB. Thursday is the results show for IGB.

There will be 3 shows the week of IGB. It’s already been announced in press releases.

That is just the way that they have decided to do things. There was only a top 10 in season one, and they all toured. Then in season 2, there was a top 12, but still only 10 toured. And it has remained the same. I am not Nigel Lythgoe (thank GOD) so I really can’t give a definite answer, and I am not going to try to attempt to figure out how his mind works. Heh.

And like someone else explained in one of the other threads where this question was asked, no one can be guaranteed a contract at this point if they don’t win, but when they make top 10, thanks to the rules of the show, they get to go on tour. It’s really as simple as that.

Anyway, this is an interesting twist, and it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me as to why they’d add an extra person into the tour, but hey. I like it. I’d love to see Danny back!

David H hands down. His voice is superb!! Danny has nice voice and all, but he’s little too over the top for me. I can do without him on tour.

I’d much rather have Danny sassing it up with “Tainted Love” than have Amanda shout and warble her words at me. Go Danny!

Maybe I’m alone, but I see nothing entertaining about Amanda. I’m not sad she’s gone, although KLC was worse. I like Amanda’s attitude in the interviews, and that’s about it. She’s not as good of a singer as Danny or David H. David H is just kinda boring for me.

I would choose Danny or Alex. Love them both.

And to this i say AMEN! I’ve seen enough of his stuff period – ugh -blech. Of all the eliminations, his made me the happiest.

Here’s one anti Danny. His spoiled brat sassyness becomes so obnoxious I don’t even remember his singing. It’s a little too much. The tweens evidently felt the same way as he didn’t stay as long as some felt he would. I’m not homophobic as my choice would be David H. he’s got a great voice and attitude. In his post Idol appearances he really did well dispite the circumstances. I’d like to see and hear him again.

I’ll join in the “Just Say No… To Danny” group. Sure, he was entertaining, and he made for good tv, but I’d much rather see David H or Alaina on tour. Maybe Amanda or Asia’h. Just not Danny.

Have y’all seen Danny’s performance of “Superstar” on Ellen? I hearted that so much and had he done it in that fashion on the show, I doubt he’d be gone and I think he’d be viewed as less OTT by people (like my mom and aunt who couldn’t stand him). The boy can SANG. He just mishandled song choice (early) and bandzilla killed him at the end. IMO, as always.

I agree Carie. I loved his performance on Ellen. And I love his sassy, flamboyancy. I miss him on the show.

I checked in with my casual viewing fiend in TN. She LOVED her some Danny. Now she only likes MJ, Brooke and Jason (although she hates the dreads). I wonder if she only likes him now because I’ve been talking him up? She’s tough. She thinks David C is overrated and really HATES David A. She really wants Archie to go down. LOL.

I may have to rethink my vote. I voted for Danny. I, too, loved his “Superstar” on Ellen. However, something tells me that will not be the kind of performance we would get from him on the tour. I certainly don’t want “Jailhouse Rock” or even “Tainted Love”. Although I thought he was a hoot on AI I’m not sure how his tour shtick would play out.

Okay groupies! — Danny will only make it in music if he pays as much attention to his singing as he does to ‘acting out.’ He needs to pick one — his music or his creed — and focus on it!

Re: Danny going on tour. . . just another opportunity for Danny to become the clown. I hope Danny settles down and realizes that he has a future in singing but he can’t have it both ways. His chosen persona, just another gay guy. (no bashing, I love gay guys).

On second thought — he needs to pay MORE attention to singing as he does acting out.

I still don’t know how this would work, but I bet a lot of Amanda fans would not have voted for her if they knew what she would say this week. Her comments were a complete turn-off and she admitted she’s not a typical AI contestant. I would love for David Hernandez to be on the tour!

I have often wished they would allow #11 and #12 to appear on the concert in their home city or state. I would also like to see David H. emcee some of the tour shows the way Matt Rogers did. Or do some work like Brandon has.

Danny! He entertained me while he was on the show, much more so than Amanda or Hernandez. He needs to temper the antics and focus on singing, but he can still be Danny and a real crowd pleaser.

Putting on my tin foil hat… maybe this is a way for TPTB to get Danny on the tour, knowing he’s popular and hoping his inclusion will boost ticket sales. They had a “who would you want back” poll on the Idol site a couple of weeks ago and Danny won it by 65% or so. I don’t know, but I think they are desperate to get sales back up again after last year’s floparoo.

I am in the Yes! to Danny column. I would also have liked to hear more from Alaina and would LOVE it, if they let Josiah compete for that spot.

In a year where I actually like all the contestants (meaning- even the ones I don’t love have qualities about them that I do like), I still miss Josiah.

I’m no fan of Danny although he did bring some humor and attitude. I’d rather see Amanda or maybe David H on tour.

Although I wouldn’t be sorry if David H or Amanda made it. I love all three of them. I would just love to see Danny vamping it up on hopefully a different song than any we’ve seen.

Since the article is saying we may get to choose from five contestants, I wonder if it could be contestants eleven and twelve and then the judges would each get to pick one from the remaining twenty-four. They always seem to want to get the judges involved. If my memory serves me right the judges each picked a wild card and the fans one, in season two and Clay was the fans pick. If it happens it’ll be a little different than anything they’ve done before and to me change is good.
