Nigel Lythgoe tweeted last night, “Wow, Alex Wong just auditioned for #AmericanIdol. The boy has a good voice.” Nigel was in New York yesterday auditioning golden ticket winners from New Jersey. He says he’s on to Pittsburgh, Portland and Aspen next.
Alex Wong was the breakout star of So You Think You Can Dance 7 in the summer of 2010. Unfortunately he ripped his Achilles tendon in rehearsal early in the competition and was forced to drop out. Alex was all set to come back Season 8 as an All Star until, right before the live shows began, he ripped the tendon in his other foot!
So maybe the boy should stick to singing? It’s a lot less dangerous. (Watch him develop nodes on his vocal cords. Eep).
