Sorry, but I’ll be too busy or too sick. Haven’t decided which yet. ;)

I’m so excited to see that Billy will be on the tour. But I too feel that Season 6 dancers got robbed. No Jakob, Ellenore or Legacy! That is plain wrong!

Is this the first year to tour?

No, they’ve been touring every season since at least Season 2 (I didn’t watch Season 1) , but didn’t tour after S6 which was very sad. I’ve been to every tour and every single one has been phenomenal. Unlike with IDOL, the dancers all sign autographs each tour spot and have always taken the time to get to just about everyone (and I attend in Newark/NJ which usually has one of the biggest crowds). The dancers are so appreciative of their fans.

This tour will be very different, though, because in past tours the dancers have done the most fab performances/group routines from the show, in addition to a solo. IDK how they will be selecting routines since only 2 dancers from S6 are attending and not all of this year’s dancers/all-stars are attending, meaning many of both season’s most spectacular dances can’t be done with the originally cast dancers.

I don’t like the set-up and how the producers are punishing the Season 6 dancers. This has not be a smooth season for SYTYCD. How sad…

I agree that S6 dancers got robbed – also the fans. Technically Kathryn was invited as the S6 Top girl, not as an all-star, so there are 2 dancers from S6.

I love Alex too, but if he’s dancing before the end of the year I will be shocked. His injury was very serious, and takes a long time to recover from. He needs to take his time to heal properly and do PT so he doesn’t risk injuring himself again. If he sustains this same type of injury to the same leg again, he probably won’t be able to dance again.

I have never been to a tour performance, and the first time I considered it was after Season 6 in order to see my favorite dancer Jakob Karr. Of course, he and most of S6 were not invited on tour, so forget that plan. Complete BS to screw Season 6 over like that. At the end of the day, the thing that matters most in show BUSINESS is the dollar, so Nigel won’t really get how unhappy people are about his tour selections until it hits his pocketbook with reduced ticket sales.

Indeed, how would some of the best performances from Season 7 be performed without its original dancers? Not that there have been a whole lot of standout numbers this year, in my opinion. Twitch and Alex’s hip hop jumps to mind; and I loved Billy and Lauren’s “shoe” number choreographed by Mandy Moore, but not sure that it was a general crowd pleaser since Billy still ended up in the bottom that week. I seem to remember Sonya did a number I liked…but my point is there has been little that has really stood out this season. As I said, I’ve never been to a Tour performance, and this year is not the year I’m going to start. (Bah!)

I was kind of under the impression that the dances the judges choose on finale night as their favourites from the season generally end up being among the dances performed on tour, but I
don’t know. I also got the impression from reading that interview with Billy here yesterday that there may be dances which weren’t performed
on the show as they were originally intended, because of injury. He said he would like to do the Step routine with Kent and the dance with Allison where she got hurt and Katee stepped in. Both these remarks in response to a question about the tour; so that would be cool to see.
