From TWOP by way of Idol Forums:

UPDATED:

Lil’ C is the Guest Judge. Each pair dances two routines.

  • Courtney and Joshua – Hip hop by Dave Scott – (The dance has a Frankenstein theme), Rumba by Jean Marc Generaux Song: “Hero” by Enrique Inglesias
  • Mark and Kherington – Two Step by Ronnie DeBenedetta and Brandi Tobias, Jazz by Tyce DiOrio Song: “Canned Heat” by Jamiroquai
  • Twitch and Comfort – Waltz by Hunter Thompson (they play husband and wife), Hip hop by Dave Scott – Song: “Forever” by Chris Brown
  • Will and Katee – Broadway by Tyce DiOrio, (A boat is used as a prop. Katee plays a vamp, Will the square she corrupts) Song: “Sit Down Your Rocking the Boat” from Guys and Dolls, Pas de Deux by Desmond Richardson and Dwight Roden Song: David Archuletta’s version of “Imagine”
  • Chelsie and Gev – Contemporary by Sonya Tayeh, Jive by Jean Marc Generaux

Order of the solos: Chelsie, Gev, Courtney, Twitch, Katee, Mark, Comfort, Will, Kherington and Joshua. Mark danced to a Queen song. Gev had some neat tricks in his solo.

There’s more information at TWOP HERE and HERE, including information about costumes and judges remarks. A critique of the solos HERE.

Jessica tells the audience that her injury is due to broken ribs, and the Dr. told her she couldn’t dance for 4 weeks if she wanted to join the tour. Comfort and Twitch only had 1 day to learn the routine.

Plus solos!

For Thursday:

  • Chuck Maldonado is choreographing.
  • Lady Gaga is the musical guest.

Three group routines:

  • Girls choregraphed by Mia Michaels
  • Guys choreographed by Chuck Moldonado
  • Top 10 Bollywood dance

  • http://dreambabysdreams.blogspot.com/ Dream Baby Dream

Dave Scott hip hop? Okay. I’m good with that.

They are now saying that the group routines are for Thursday, not for Wednesday. Who knows? LOL…

  • snuffles

5 routines in one night!? Are they trying to kill them? No wonder Jessica got injured.

  • primeminister

Apparently, the quick-step is country-western. BYEEEE Country-boy Mark! GAHHH.

  • spritely

Will and Katee will probably be beautiful together on the pas de deux.

  • BlankSlate

The cynic in me is wondering if the producers conveniently found a way to get Jessica her sudden “injury.” This news is too close on the heels of the announcement that Comfort was back in for the tour…

I hope there’s no one pulling the strings off camera but.. this IS 19 E….

  • JudyOhio

Gev without Courtney….can his heart survive, lol

  • dancingqueen

So, my guy Twitch drew the short straw – I’m not Comforted by that!

  • daisy

Am just catching up with the news about Jessica, really sad for her, the girl has been beat on mentally and now physically, i have to agree that learning all these routines, with the elaborate lifts and jumps must be taking a toll.

Poor Twitch, next to Joshua, my fav guy and Comfort has been a dud so far, even in her “supposed” best hip hop.
Fingers crossed that he outshines her and stays in the competition. Am looking forward to the Bollywood routine this wk
Joshua and Courtney was my dream pic couple this wk, they will be adorable together

  • wfowfowfo

Two step? F*ckin’ TWO STEP? Look out Mark — here comes the bus.

    Crap and double crap.

  • http://dreambabysdreams.blogspot.com/ Dream Baby Dream

You know what’s funny? The other night, I had a dream where they were doing a two-step on SYTYCD. It wasn’t long after they had done the Bollywood, so the idea of them using some different styles of dance was in my head already. And living in two-step-country (Texas) I actually really love a two-step when its done well. Kinda weird that they are doing a two-step so soon after my dream though. LOL.

  • KrazeeK120

I’m going to sound stupid here for a second, but I really don’t care.

Could someone give me a brief description of a “two-step” and a “pas de deux”? I am not familiar with these dances.

  • http://kmantoniva.blogspot.com/ KristiVA

Holy Dancing Batman!! Can they survive all this hoofing?

    2 pairs dances
    1 solo
    2 group numbers

WOW! I can barely walk around the block!

  • http://dreambabysdreams.blogspot.com/ Dream Baby Dream

    Could someone give me a brief description of a à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“two-stepà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ and a à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“pas de deuxà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ? I am not familiar with these dances.

A two-step is a country-western style of partner dancing. It takes a ton of concentration and typically requires lots of intricate spins.

The pas de deux is from ballet, and I believe that Desmond Richardson choreographs what would be considered to be contemporary ballet. It is a section of the full ballet that focuses on the two stars of the ballet. Other than that, I really am not sure what to tell you.

  • wfowfowfo

Now that I know what a pas de deux is — in my little world, where Nigel is the king bastard of manipulation, Will and Katee are obviously TCO. The manipulation is getting more and more blatant. Has it been like this every year?

I need to be more like KK and just not care.

But, hell, I’m voting and I don’t care who knows it.

  • stardust462

A pas de deux? Seriously? I can’t wait to see Will and Katee take that on. I highly doubt the pulling that out of the hat randomly. Doesn’t ballet require certain training? I doubt someone like Comfort or Gev would be able to just pick that up like the other styles.

Can’t wait to see the Bollywood group dance!

  • primeminister

Gah, maybe I’ll actually wake up early tomorrow to vote for my country boy Mark. Does Gizmo work for sytycd, I wonder?

  • cheese

Aww, I expect Gev and Comfort to go this week, but I’ll miss wee little underdog Gev (based on the spoilers, even Chelsie is taller than him and sort of took the lead in the Jive number, lol). Oh well, maybe his solo can save him. (I certainly won’t – not voting!)

  • Joanna

Poor precious, miniature Gev. At least he’s not stuck with Comfort. That was me looking on the bright side.

  • Grammie Kari

Dream Baby, do you watch cable TV? There was a quick mention of this gal (had black hair) and they said she was a certfied Bollywood dancer. I knew what that was. Maybe it was suggested by way of your brain? ;o)

Also, didn’t Sarah Evans do a terrific Western 2-step on DWTS?

  • rher

argh with a capitol ARGH to the return of Comfort. How silly that they are letting her compete again when she already has left. Couldn’t they pair up Twitch with one of the choreographers like they did last year for Pasha (sigh), when his partner (Anya?) was hurt? That week, they just let go of a guy. So much for transparent manipulations; Nigel, not all of us are wearing those rose-tinted glasses.

  • http://www.petsinpastel.com Seraphina

Good lord, that’s a lot o’ dancin’ in one week! Every year these kids get the most outrageous lists of injuries by the end of the season, but they seem to be pushing them more than ever this year. I wonder how many bandaged-up limbs and joints there are already? Always felt there should be a week off half way through the competition just to give them a respite.

Hooray for the group Bolly number!

Thankfully, it’s down to votes now rather than judges’ choice, and I think Mark has enough fans to pull him through any dance style at this point. ;)

Also coming late to the Jessica/Comfort news…very sad indeed for Jessica, and I’m particularly ticked Comfort is the one back in the competition rather than Thayne. At least she’s a long shot for survival…

  • idolfan86

    Another spoiler:

The music to Will and Katee’s Pas de Deux is David Archuleta’s version of “Imagine” :)

  • DivaE

I think the reason they didn’t replace Jessica with a choreographer like last year (when Jessi had to go to the ER during the dress rehearsal, and Pasha danced the cha cha with Melanie LaPatin) is because the obviously had more notice than the day before the show. Last year, when Jessi came back from the hospital, and people had not been able to vote for her in the pairs dancing, she danced for her life and was sent home.

I am still naive and in denial about this show- I still want to believe that they truly pull their partner’s name and their dance out of the hat at this point. I’m very excited about the new pairings, and the new styles. This show makes me smile :)

  • KrazeeK120

Mark’s my favorite guy, but I’m really not excited about this two-step business.

I think that Katee and Will are TCO. But that’s just my perspective.

I’m not completely convinced that Gev is going home yet. That said, I’m not sure who else would go.

As far as the girls are concerned…I was considering throwing a party last week when Comfort got eliminated. If she doesn’t get eliminated (again) this week, I’ll likely start pulling my hair out.

  • Grammie Kari

So, would that mean we would see Comfort’s farewell video again? In all fairness, I home she is sent home.

Yes, Sara Evans did the Western 2-Step ;o)

Wasn’t there a rumor that Mia wanted to use one of Jason’s songs? It makes sense that they wouldn’t allow that, huh? David’s song is beautiful, though.

  • stardust462

    The music to Will and Kateeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s Pas de Deux is David Archuletaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s version of à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Imagineà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ :)

Great, now I’m not looking forward to it. I don’t care for his version of that song.

    I think Sara Evans did a jive that was country-ish – not a 2-step.

  • AInoob

After reading some of the spoilers, I’m not sure Comfort is going home this week now. It seemed that she, in Nigel’s mind, lived up to being called the best HH dancer they’ve had with hers and Twitch’s HH routine. Seemed Courtney had a little misstep in one of her routines and her solo didn’t seem memorable.

  • spritely

So I guess now that David Cook has sprained his knee he’s out as a possible substitute dancer?

  • http://myspace.com/susanatfox sumidol

Yes Spritely – he wont be filling in this week but we can always hope for next week. You funny. Hey, since the Cyrus’s are so popular now wouldnt that be a gall darn hoot if they did the two step to Ole Billys Ray’s Achy Breaky Heart??

Oh no, might we be seeing Comfort around longer? Nigel made the remark that she finally proved that she was the best hip hop dancer ever, well I will definitely have to see that to believe that. It may be so but she did NOT make me believe any of the other dances she attempted expect maybe the waltz.

  • Michelle

Yay for a group Bollywood number!

I have faith that Mark will somehow make the two-step amazing and hot.

  • hcpoirot

So who believe that the top 10 draw name from a hat?

    Not me.

How coincidence, that Katee (the judges favorites right now) got to be paired up with Will (also judges fav). Nigel really wanted these two to be in the final 4 , so he paired them up together. And look of the dances they got, two dances that a contemporary dancers will be comfortable in.

Also how coincedence that other pairs got at least one balroom/latin dance or a country dance. (out of their comfort zone)

And of course Nigel wanted Twicth to go first by pairing him with Comfort. But at least they got a Hip hop routine. And then they got Waltz. I am not confidence both of them could pull out a good waltz.

Courney/Joshua got a rhumba, the sexiest Latin dance. If they can come up with the chemistry , it will be good. Hmm, how Gev wish he could get a Rhumba routine when he paired up with Courtney. :D

  • hcpoirot

I am sure Comfort will be going home in top 10 no matter how good or brilliant her dance and all of judges comment. Why?

From top 20. she only once not in bottom 3. Thats mean she didnot had many fans to votes her. In top 10, its all based on people votes and the judges cannot saved any more dancer.

Thats why they pair Katee and Will and 2 more suitable dances for them to make sure they will do it right, get the praised and get people votes.

So bye bye Comfort. She never shine at all with 7 pair dances she performed so far. So even if she shine like a bright star in hip hop routine in top 10, it just already too late. Not to mention, she didnot shine in Krump style and then hip hop style last week. What a let down and NIgel called her the best B girl he ever seen.

In her solo dance, I hardly seen her doing any trick or amazing dance. Compare with Gev dance solo or Twicth electric solo dance when they were in bottom 3.

I had seen so many B-Girl dance better than her in Best Dance CRew (MTV specialist hip hop dance competition).

I do watch some cable, but I don’t know that I saw anything about that. LOL.

And Sarah did a western themed dance, but it wasn’t a two step, exactly. I believe that it was their jive, but I’m having problems finding it on youtube to be certain.

  • champ

    Come back, Jessica!!!!!

  • dorris

“So who believe that the top 10 draw name from a hat?”

From past Seasons they use to show the “drawing from the hat” infront of other dancers and studio audience. Just like in this youtube clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0giToh1BWXc&feature=related and others. Also, you can tell from the comments being made by the dancers that the routines they’ve been assigned is random (e.g. I remember Travis and Allison making a comment of how they are always getting ballroom routines).
Other than that, the rest are up to the producers.

I just wish they brought back Thayne instead of Comfort. At least it is something new– male partnering in top 10. Also from past Seasons, it was proven that the best routines are the male partnering (Benji-Travis/ Neil-Danny).

  • SpenserJ

I am a sad human being. I snuck down to the hotel’s business center after my family fell asleep, because I just couldn’t stand not knowing! This is totally costing me about five bucks a minute lol.

Hmm, I’m not usually much of a knoller, but I have a feeling that the hat Katee picked out of had 5 pieces of paper that all said Will on them.

My poor, sweet Twitch. He draws Comfort and another Waltz? How many waltzes are they going to make him do. I guess if wardrobe puts him in a jacket with huge shoulder pads and the judges comment on him hunching up – I’ll know that the fix is in. At least that way, I can mentally prepare myself. I’ll also assume that they’re going first. Twitch can’t even get within spitting distance of the pimp spot. I had hoped at the beginning of the season that he really had a shot, but I guess he’s just their tour-revenue bitch lol.

At least the other people I like seem to have a good chance of doing well. I’ll see all of you lovely peeps in a few days :)

  • weelassie

Will they stay paired with the new pairings or will it change every week now?

  • kayleighjade08

Will they stay paired with the new pairings or will it change every week now?

Now they change every week. This should be interesting…

  • rher

Spens – I would have done the same thing! Call me pathetic too!

Yes, I do love this show and it makes me smile a lot. But I do see a lot of manipulation this year (regarding dances and who get paired and now Comfort coming back and Nigel on his kick of her being the best b-girl ever), although it is difficult to see yet who the exact winner will be. I’m leaning toward Katee, since it seems that another girl winner seems more plausible; however, I love underdogs like Twitch (but I don’t think he could win) or Josua (he is a perfect underdog to take the whole thing). Will – although a great dancer – I think he will be out at about the number 6 spot.

  • MN Sue

Sorry Spenser, I know how this is gonna hurt you, but do we now have to refer to the pairing as “Twitchfort?. Heh, its better than “Comfitch”.

  • http://www.xanga.com/hisaki_chan707 Hisaki

What is with the freaking 9830918 new dances and choreographers being introduced every week? If they want to introduce something/someone and make it stick in people’s minds, then this isn’t working.

That said, I’m excited about the group Bollywood number. :) /hypocrite

Courtney has really been growing on me. And it seems Kherington’s been slowly dying or something; she doesn’t seem to be getting the same high praise from the judges anymore.

I’m mildly surprised to hear it took so freaking long for Comfort to live up to her initial “best-hip-hopper-girl-on-the-show-EVAH!” label. I am in no way elated to see Comfort again, but it seemed she and Twitch did well with the hip-hop so I’m looking forward to that.

  • Grammie Kari

I am really looking forward to seeing tonight’s show! I also like Courtney and Kerrington. Bollywood – YAY!
