So You Think You Can Dance – New Top 10 Pairings!

I’m really excited about Melissa and Brandon. They’re my two favorite dancers this year. I think they’ll make a great pair. He’s so versatile, and I think she was the one that brought the chemistry when partnered with Ade. She has a way of really focusing on her partner when dancing.

Randi and Kupono? I think they r next to go…

Kayla and Ade would be verry exciting pairing as long as they get interesting goreographies… I hope Kayla gets something sexy this time like the samba she did in the top 20… She has had a lot of good but dark peaces since then…

I think the Judges want Ade and Kayla and Melissa and Brandon as their top 4 but I think It may backfire. I think Melissa personality (movement) is not a good combo with Brandon’s, and Kayla and Ade though beautiful dancers are not the most compelling personalities. Watch out for Evan and Jeanette. Both have amazing personalities and I think Jeanette will bring Evan to the top of his game. I agree that most likely Randi and Kupono are gone next week. But remember it is individual voting from now on. Kayla could go as well as Jason.

It depends on what style of dance they get.

Randi and Kupono seems like an interesting pair to me… it’ll be interesting to see how they dance together.

I’m curious to see Brandon and Melissa dance together. If they get contemporary I think it might be really good since they both have a lot of classical dance training. Although, we haven’t seen Brandon dance anything that called for emotion yet.

I never saw much in Jason, but maybe I will like him dancing with Jeanine more than I did when he was with Caitlin.

Not surprised that the two judges favorites, Melissa and Brandon, have been paired together. Those two will be competing in the end, or I’ll eat my hat.

I think you are right. Brandon is my favorite guy so I hope you are right that he’s the last guy standing.

So disappointed that Jeanine didn’t get someone better. I’d have liked to see her get a chance to really shine, after she carried Philip around on her back for the first half of the season.

Evan and Janette could be interesting. Not sure what I think about Randi with Kupono.

Well it’s a crap shoot from now on. I think people may be surprised by which guys and girls end up in the B3. For instance, people assume Evan has been carrying Randi, but it may have actually been the other way around for all we know (not that I believe it myself).

Brandon and Ade are easily the top 2 guys for me. Evan hasn’t lived up to my expectations at all. I love him doing his own thing but he is lacking in some of the other areas. Kupono and Jason are ok. I think Jason was weighed down by Caitlin so we’ll see how he does with Jeanine. Kupono is hit/miss for me.

For girls… I’m not particularly wedded to any of them. I guess I like Janette the best so far. I don’t think she’s had a bad performance yet.
I need to see Melissa do hip hop or krump before moving her into my Top 2. The girl really hasn’t been asked to move too far out of her comfort zone.
Kayla, I need to see her do something other than posing and kicks – I realize she can’t help what the choreographers give her. But I’m still underwhelmed by her in comparison to the judge’s comments.
Jeanine I’d like to see her get her contemporary genre. She seems versatile enough. If she can connect emotionally during a contemporary piece then she’ll move up to Top 2 for me.
Randi – I guess she’s the weakest link for me now. A good dancer but doesn’t stand out, for me anyways….

I love Jeanine, and I’m disappointed with her pairing. She’s my favorite. I sort of like Melissa, but I don’t see her with Brandon. Love Ade and Kayla.

LOL, I totally called the Kayla/Ade and Melissa/Brandon pairings last week. I’m kinda surprised that they put Janette with Evan though (as she seems to be one of their favorite girls, and they’ve really been depimping him… other dancers have had some of the same issues that he’s had, but he gets called out on them much more harshly), but maybe they’re just recognizing that he’s popular and hoping Janette will get some residual votes from dancing with him?

I say this mostly because I still think Janette is the “real” chosen one. She’s actually gotten to show some versatility, while the other two judge favorite girls, Melissa and Kayla, seem to have been handled with kid gloves regarding making them step outside of their comfort zone (i.e. – Kayla getting Samba with, what do you know, a partner whose specialty is Latin ballroom plus two contemporaries and a jazz, and out of 6 dances, Melissa getting not only a Pas de Deux, but a contemporary and jazz as well). If you really look at last year, you’ll see that Joshua hardly ever repeated a style (in fact, he only had his specialty twice), but Courtney, Katee, and Twitch frequently repeated styles. I think TPTB like for their winners to show versatility and the ability to master all the styles, which is why I think Janette is the real chosen one. But that’s just me on the knoll…

Anyway, that said, Melissa is due for a hip hop. Brandon showed that he’s strong in hip hop, and NapTab are choreographing a couple routine. Who wants to bet that they get a lyrical hip hop, once again lightweighting it for Melissa?

I’m gonna be really annoyed if Kayla/Ade end up with the Travis piece. The manipulation this season has been out of control, so I won’t be surprised, btu I’ll definitely be annoyed. They acknowledged last year that Katee and Twitch already knew each other before they danced together… I wonder if they’ll do it this year with Kayla/Ade.

I wonder who they’re trying to sink this week. Jason has ended up in the bottom 3 the most times and Jeanine is probably the biggest threat to their precious Kayla, but Randi and Kupono just seem like a weird pairing to me. I wonder if they’ll get the two-step? Heh.

And I seriously doubt that melissa will last till the end. to be frank, she is the blandest girl left and her dissapointing solo showed no promise. I say put her in hip hop or any latin dance that requires hard beats rather than the fluid rumba and shes a goner.

Damn! I was so hoping for Jeanine to be with either Ade or Brandon! I am not sure that they’re trying to sink anyone though. If so, they never would’ve paired Janette with Evan. Not that Evan’s not great, but they don’t seem to care much for him while they go nuts over Janette every week. I do like Jason, so I don’t mind him with Jeanine, but it would’ve been more exciting to have her with one of the stronger guys.

I thought they had to pull the name of their partners of hat…or do the producers say who is partnering with whom? Is it gonna change now every week or is it gonna stay like that?

When I saw that Kupono and Randi are now partners, I also thought they would be gone…but who knows? Maybe they’ll surprise us!

..and if Melissa actually does make it to the final 4 I’m eating my socks. No way she’s that popular.

Also I love reading the conspiracy theories.. including the boards on TWoP, I think I’ve seen theories explaining how each of the remaining dancers are, or have been at one point, the producer’s “chosen one” haha. Well, maybe with the exception of Jason. Poor poor Jason.

CSM – I’m not sure what they’re saying this season about how the dances/partners are picked. In the 1st season, they would sit them down and show clips of them picking dances & partners out of the hat; but over the years they’ve gradually stopped talking about it. The producers have probably always had influence on who gets what & whom, though. And yes, they will change partners each week from now on.

Melissa is my least favorite on the show. She has zero personality, very robotic.

I don’t think there are any weak dancers in the top 10, with the exception of Kupono. I think he is a good actor, but not sure about the dancing. So, he is weaker than the rest. I don’t think Melissa’s solo was as good as Caitlyn’s last week.

If it’s the same set up as previous season’s then yes they do.

I like the pairing of Jason and Jeanine, I look forward to watching them.

Last year at this point Kherington was dumped after never being in the bottom (when she was with Twitch). I wonder if there will be a shocking boot this week? I think that being in the bottom 3 last week and dancing his amazing solo, was the best thing that could have happened to Ade.

Very interesting pairings here. I agree with the majority about the Kupono/Randi pairing. Huh???? That one makes 0 sense to me. I think Kupono is the weakest dancer left IMO.

I like Melissa, but to be honest…is anyone really that nice? This gal can dance and I like what I see! Hip Hop? Maybe not so much.

I will be on vacation Tues. – Thursday so I’ll just have to guess when it comes to the POOL. It was very nice being in 5th place for one week. LOL.

I agree. I went from being, “Ade seems fine” to “Damn, Ade is awesome” in the space of that solo.

Okay, then I hope the Kayla/Ade rumors are true, even though I kinda think it’s a set up to keep the overpimping haterade alive and well. I really have the feeling they know about overpimping backlash and now use it as a kind of sneaky manipulation. Kayla’s my favorite female dancer and Ade is kinda tied with Kupono for favorite guy, so I’d love to see them work with Travis. Plus I think Ade’s quality of movememt really fits with Travis’s choreography. Here are Ade and Kayla dancing together in a piece they choreographed.

Melissa and Brandon? Meh. I know they have been consistent and are popular, but I find both of their personalities to be grating and they both give off this egocentric vibe when they dance. And Melissa has yet to be challenged.

Looks like Randi and Kupono are being primed to leave. *sad* Will be cool to see how Jason and Jeanine do with new partners in an untapped potential kind of way.

Yes, it is right! I wish I could watch it live, but I’ll be at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

I just hate picking someone to leave when I am not sure about their dance and the chemistry with their partner.
