So You Think You Can Dance – Jessica King Injured – Comfort Fedoke Takes Her Place

How ironic! And how sad for Jessica. However, I doubt that Comfort will be back in the competition for long. Yes, I was one of the (I think) many who were glad to see Comfort finally go. IMHO, she stayed longer than her talent merited.

I agreed with Mary Murphy that Jessica had one performance each show that was terrific. The same could not be said for Comfort. And I thought Nigel and, of course, Mia in particular were unnecessarily cruel in their comments to Jessica.

Wishing Jessica a speedy recovery and hope it’s possible for her to still go on Tour as an alternate.

Yuck! Comfort seems like a nice girl, but she is just soo much weaker than the other girls and I never was very impressed by her solos. Poor Jessica! Although, maybe the break in constant criticism will be good for her soul.

I wish they’d bring back Kourtni.

ETA: I would be shocked if she (Jessica) is not on the tour.

Talk about WTF! I had Jessica going home last week in the office pool. Turns out I was right. I should get my damn points! LOL!!

It is going to be hard for her being kicked off two weeks in a row.

I wonder how long she had to get up to speed on the assigned dance. Anyone placing bets on who her partner is/was? Mark? Gev? Certainly not the golden child Will, he’s already tired after carrying Jessicia all those weeks… (snark).

We shall see what the evil Nigel has planned.

I really hate this for Jessica. I’m not happy that Comfort is coming back one bit. I guarantee you she will be back in the bottom 3 on Thursday regardless of who she is paired up with. Of course, I could be wrong.

I wonder if we will find out about her injury during this week’s show or is this one of those imaginary injury’s like baseball has where the player learns about it as he is put on the disabled list. I hope if she is injured that she is healed for the tour. That would be two huge disappointments for her if not.

Funny you mention this, it was the first snarky thought that went through my mind too. I am NOT happy to be seeing Comfort again.

Will pool picks for Jessica count as picks for Comfort? Or are you going to replace Jessica’s picture with Comfort’s, requiring a “re-vote”? I recall there were some folks who were going to be out of town who were voting for Jessica before they left (performance unseen) with no Internet access, and no opportunity to change their votes.

If you let votes for Jessica count as Comfort votes, and then if folks thought it wouldn’t be Comfort, they could then select one of the other girls. That should work, no? Is there anyone who doesn’t think it would be Comfort going home (again) this week?

This is the week where from here on out, America’s vote, alone, decides who goes home. I suppose it’s possible that more people would vote for Comfort than Chelsea, Courtney, Katee or Kherington. But, I doubt it.

I was just starting to like Jessica, too. I think they should bring in a non-competing replacement girl — any of the ones already voted off. Kourtni or Chelsie would have been better. They’d just be there to partner with the boys…

Wait…that wouldn’t work. What would be the impetus for the girl to do her best? The goodness of her heart?

What happened? “I can’t be specific about the injury,” says producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe, in part because they’re saving it for the show. Jessica will return to discuss it.

poor jessica, poor comfort, poor us who have to watch. comfort looked so happy to be leaving last week i wonder how she feels now? wishing jessica a speedy recovery!

I hope Jessica’s injury isn’t too severe and that she heals quickly. Can’t say I’m thrilled to see Comfort again this week.

Too bad for Jessica. I’m not a big fan of hers, but I never want to see anyone leave due to injury or health issues.

As far as how long it will take to heal, according to the article MJ linked, it could take up to 5 weeks. That will be just after the finale, so she should be available for the tour. I would think that as long as her recovery goes as hoped, she will still go on tour.

This is terrible. And suspicious. I wonder what they will say at the show. Maybe Jessica just had enough of being ripped to pieces and harshly criticized and dropped out. If that were the case I wouldn’t blame her, but I’d wish she’d stuck around because I, personally, loved watching her dance. I wish her the best and hope she gets to tour – if she wants to tour, that is. But if it is an injury! WTF!!!

Courtney is with Joshua!!! Ever since that dance where she sizzled in 1/2 a dress and that same night Joshua did the same(sizzled I mean – not wore 1/2 a dress) have I been wanting to see what the two of them could put together. Yay – my favorite girl with my favorite guy, well, for the first few weeks he sure was. I am kinda torn right now but this is great news if it is true

Not a ton of detail yet, but so far has the pairings and the dances.

Each couple has two partner routines, there are 3 group dances (1 boys, 1 girls, 1 all) AND a solo. 5 dances each. I think Nigel is trying to kill them all and see who the last one standing is, and then declare that person the winner.

ETA: I think the *rumor* about Jessica is that she has 3 broken ribs, and may have also developed pneumonia?

ETA2: I’m thinking at least 1 of the group dances, if not all, may be on Thursday’s show. Otherwise, I have no idea how they’re going to fit all this into 2 hours.

Also, Lil’ C is the 3rd judge. I WANT DAN KARATY, DAMMIT!

Sumidol, no they didn’t have nearly that many until the finale – at least that’s how it was last year. On that night, the final 4 had 3 partner dances (each possible pairing for the remaining finalists) plus a group dance and a solo.

Also, the ‘some ballroom thing’ for Chelsie/Gev is the Jive.

Can I say that I am so. freaking. glad. to have Dave Scott as the hip hop choreographer this week?! I really like his stuff, and if I can’t have Shane, I’ll take Dave, fo sho.

Re: Comfort and Twitch – the initial rumor is that they were “awesome” on the hip hop. I’d hope so. Not sure what the waltz will be like though.

Also, I think it’s confirmed later on in that thread that the group dances are all for Wednesday. But still. That’s 5 routines each. Yikes.

I thought Jessica would have been sent home before Comfort although both Comfort and Jessica are the weakest link. I just figure that the judges would have based their decision on who was the biggest disappointment. In which it would have been Jessica based on the fact that she was the MOST hinderence to her ALLSTARE partner Will.

I do believe that it was more than just an injury i(f in fact there was an injury at all) that Jessica decided to withdraw from the competition. She was deeply hurt by the comments made by Mia. But, I do not believe that Mia was harsh. She just said out loud what everyone dared not to say. Who knows last weeks decision could give Comfort the drive she needed. We shall see.

No doubt about it. No matter how good Comfort danced in top 10 this week, her fate were sealed. She will be the first girl to be sent home in top 10 due to lack of fans votes.

Meanwhile it will be ashocker to see who 5 boys will be going home in top 10. My bet was one of the 3 B-boys. Maybe between Twitch or Gev.

And because Will was in bottom 3 last week, Nigel will put him and his partner at the pimp spot so he can be saved. But who knows, maybe Will votes alone carried him and Jessica so far. Like Danny in season 3. After being so many bottom 3 , when reached top 10, Danny never ever being in bottom 2 and ended up as runner up.
