So You Think You Can Dance Announces Premiere Date

The summer dance competition, So You Think You Can Dance, has a premiere date. The show, produced and created by Idol producer, Nigel Lythgoe will premiere on Tuesday May 14.

That date is earlier than usual. Will American Idol still be airing on Wednesday and Thursday? And will SYTYCD remain on Tuesdays?

Interestingly, Glee is set to air its season finale on May 9. That week is where Idol would end its season if there was actually a Top 10 with no wildcards, as Nigel promised in a satellite conference call he participated in a few months ago. Hm.

At any rate, So You Think You Can Dance will hold to a once a week schedule, combining the performances and eliminations into one mega show. Joining Nigel and Mary Murphy on the judges panel for the audition round will be guests Minnie Driver, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, and Adam Shankman.
