Tonight’s Smash, “Hell On Earth” finds Ivy (Megan Hilty) back in the chorus of “Heaven On Earth”, after “Marilyn” producers begun looking for a new lead. She’s not real happy about it, to say the least. Karen and Ivy sing a duet in Times Square.

Other developments in tonight’s episode:  Julia (Debra Messing) and her husband have it out over her affair with Michael, Karen (Katharine McPhee) wins the orange juice commercial she and Ivy were vying for. Plus,  Ivy has some trouble on stage.

My only complaint is the Heaven On Earth number isn’t camp enough. Why couldn’t they have had Taylor Hicks doing the lead male role! Seriously it would have been beyond awesome. Hello Smash producers. Please make this happen.

Because Norbert Leo Butz who is performing the song is a real Broadway star and Taylor Hicks isn’t.

I really loved this episode! The Heaven on Earth number was gorgeous and Norbert Leo Butz <3. I really enjoyed the Cheers number too, Times Square was such a beautiful place to film and it was nice seeing Karen and Ivy have some fun together. And Ellis getting absolutely owned was just priceless. I also really like how they keep bringing back Let Me Be Your Star in small ways, like the two instrumentals they used in tonights episode.
