Siobhan Magnus will finish up a run in The Barnstable Summer Family Theater’s production of “The Reluctant Dragon” tonight in Hyannis MA.

Siobhan is back with the theater company in honor of her high school drama drama coach, John Sullivan who is retiring this year after 34 years. The production featuring many of his former students, including Siobhan.

Siobhan made her Barnstable summer theater debut as Gwen in The Reluctant Dragon when she was 8 years old. This time around she plays the disenchanted wife of a greedy innkeeper who is shamelessly out for profits.

The original play was written in 1898, and has been adapted steadily by Sullivan since he first staged it in 1988.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Siobhan belongs in musical theater. She’s a natural on that stage.

Siobhan sounds really good in these videos and has a very natural stage presence. I think that she could be very successful in musical theater.

I agree. I think her concert stuff is horrendous, and that song she released is just….egregiously terrible. But that’s partly because she feels like a musical theater girl, and the rest is just forced. I know she’d LIKE to be everything. But in life, you’re usually best when you focus. If I was Siobhan, I’d focus on musical theater.

she could have a very good career in musical theatre! So far this is what i see for her, not a solo artist career

For those who have actually attended her concerts, they said Siobhan is terrific! Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, of course. I thought her song was good, but other material was much, much better.

I agree, Siobhan would be great on the musical theatre circuit. “Jesus Christ Super Star” is touring right now, and I could definitely see her in it. It’s up to her management to get her out there. I hope they will soon. I love Siobhan (in my top three favorite Idols ever)!

Her voice doesn’t have the same quality and purity of tone as when she was in high school. I think Siobhan has developed some bad habits as a singer. Performing with those talentless idiots in Lunar Valve is taking its toll on her voice.

Pretty good quality video here and Siobhan sounds absolutely awesome! Goodness I wish she was more popular so we could hear more from her on a more often basis. :(

    Very nice solo!

I appreciate Siobhan’s loyalty to her bandmates in Lunar Valve, but that combination so far has been a resounding failure. Hey, if she likes the garage band lifestyle, then so be it. At least I’ll give her credit for perseverance in a situation where her chance of success is nil.

Even though URO, her uncle’s band, is a cover band, I actually prefer her performances in that band to those with Lunar Valve. I don’t know why, but Lunar Valve seems so amateurish to me.

Siobhan has commented on how much she enjoys musical theater, so why not pursue that avenue? It’s worked for Constantine. I think it’s too much for her to pursue a solo career, work with Lunar Valve, and have a theater career as well. I’m waiting for the day she leaves Lunar Valve to hopefully jumpstart her career.

Some people on this site don’t care for her single. I differ on that and have purchased it.

David, I am in complete agreement with you on this! This young lady is so talented, but she needs to break away from her home roots. She needs to expand her horizons. Siobhan has a wicked sense of humor (especially when wearing her black glasses), so that avenue could be open to her (stage, screen and TV).

Musical theater has helped many Idols make some money. Constantine was great in “Rock of Ages.” There’s also Clay, Anthony, Diana, Jordin, Taylor, etc. who have done a great job in this area.

Let’s hope one day her Dad will advice her to get out there, and her management sets up some things for her to explore. I’d love to see her in person peform again!
