Shannon Magrane’s voice teacher in Florida has also worked with Michelle Delamor (S10), Jessica Sierra (S4), and Katharine McPhee (S5) so that could bode well for her in the competition.

Shannon has a nice, bluesy voice. She could present on the show as a bit old fashioned like she did in her Savannah audition, or she could try to go a more contemporary pop sound like in some of her videos. I think she is pretty enough to maybe make a splash in pop music if that is the direction she goes.

    She has great stage presence for her age and has a big voice. She could go far. She is one of my favorites so far. Apparently she gets a standing O in Hollywood.

    I like her. But, the show didn’t do her any favors with having the whole family there for the entire audition. I find her father’s reaction to Steven’s comment, more memorable than her singing. We’ll have to see how much they show her for the two and a half weeks leading up to the semis, as teens are usually fodder in the semis, unless they are given enough screen time.

    She’s cute with a bubbly personality and has a good strong voice.  I actually like these videos better than her audition.  It will be interesting to see how far she gets into the competition.

    This is kind of funny for me.  I know a couple of people who’s daughters go to school with Shannon (it’s like a Catholic school mom cult – we all know each other LOL).  Because of the spoilers here at mj’s, I know her fate so far, but my friends who actually know her do not.  I’ve been endlessly amused by that all day.  

    So far, I’ve only heard good things about her.  Apparently, she’s a good student, good athlete and all around good kid.  Her classmates appear to be very excited for her.

    Again, alot of potential here. Got the looks, got the voice. If she plays the game well and set a good style for herself, she can emerge as a frontrunner.

    well they did the whole family thing with lauren last year and she made it top2, so i don’t think showing her family isn’t doing her any favors. she’ll be fine i’m sure haha

    Her audition was mediocre so unless she plays up the whole “fly white girl” aspect of her YouTube videos, I still think she’s fodder.

    This is the kind of teenage singer who should be on Idol/The X Factor. Much like Drew, she’s mature for her age and isn’t trying to ride the super-adorbs-because-she’s-young vibe that some of the other contestants *cough* Astro *cough* ride.

    Ryan is going to have a complex standing next to her. . . he’ll constantly say to himself “she’s only 15!”
