Considering that the pictures would be flashing on the Market tower @ Times Square wouldn’t you think the idols could refrain from acting like Jr. High Kids. Some of the idols tried really hard to embarrass themselves…and a few succeeded big time (Matt and Danny).

I got the impression some of the kids had no idea what they were ringing a bell for…and probably know little if anything about the workings of the New York Stock Exchange. Oh well…

To be fair with them making stupid faces and what-not, it must be kind of awkward/embarrassing to be singled out and have a picture taken that’s going to be up on times square. It’s probably better to look stupid on purpose than try to look nice and look bad. Anoop’s wing span is enormous. Seriously. and he was dancing in the background by himself, lol.

Oddly funny, boring and weird all at the same time. Most of them look like they’re thinking “WTF … why am I here?”

And yeah, Adam should’ve taken those glasses off, at least for the pictures. Not his best look!

Wish you could see the pictures of Kris & Katy without the ‘NASDAQ Closing Bell’ logo over it. It looks like they are having fun together. I glad she can be there in NY to enjoy some of these types of things with him. And Megan has her baby there with her too, sweet :biggrin_wp:

I hate Adam’s glasses BUT I agree with Adam on this one — if I had to do the NASDAQ closing bell, I would opt for shades — and hide as much as possible.

But loved to see the whole group doing this. They are such a great group.

Wow. That was weird. I have no idea why they would be there for that so I’m not too surprised that they don’t know why either. What a way to spend your day off.

In my opinion, it was a clever idea for Adam to wear his sunglasses. Afterall, everyone else is being caught having expressions of wtf but he’s hidden some of his thoughts. Smart boy.

Not sure where you can fnd them now – they had them flashing on the building right after the event and you could see them on the livestream camera outsde the building. I think ontd_ai has some of them screen capped somewhere in their posts

I’m with you diet coke. Actually, I really liked the glasses on Adam. In fact, they were unusual, but stylish. And Adam completely took the high road with his solo pose. What were Anoop and Danny thinking? Geez.

I thought Megan did a great job with her prepared remarks on behalf of the group. Maybe she was chosen because its logical to pick someone shorter to stand in front? When it came to the group picture, I thought they looked well arranged, partially because she was standing in front and others could stand behind her.

I remember that this was a completely boring thing last year too.

Nope. I love him in them. The scorning of the Adam specs? Does not compute.

Also, I was completely with MJ regarding the “Megan? As spokesperson?” Seriously. She placed 9th. That would have been like having Rami do it last season. But, whatever. Maybe she was the only one not on vocal rest.

Also, I did appreciate how Adam kept pushing Allison to the front and stepping to the back, himself.

Adam wears those glasses most of the time – nothing wrong with them. Lil and Allison seems to be the same height, the two shortest……that was cute when Alli did the thumbs up for her pic………nothing wrong with Megan being spokesperson, she did well considering she gets nothing but not so good reviews or notoriety. It’s time some of the others get a chance to be noticed off stage like Megan and Lil – hardly see videos of their performances so if she can be a good spokesperson that was her chance to shine, fair game.

Short ones go to the front and the tall ones always stay in the back for group picture taking – only makes sense.

I thought Megan looked gorgeous. Loved her outfit, in fact I think she should pitch the pink number she wears on tour and replace it with this one, it looked grayish to me so I don’t think it would clash with her background from what I’ve heard plus it suits her own, true image. I wouldn’t be surprised if the idols themselves didn’t push for her to be their spokesperson for a little perk, have to admit she looked a helleva lot better than some others I’ve seen throughout the years and spoke just as well.

I thought it was a little boring to view so I imagine they were bored also – I guess they could have stood perfectly still like soldiers but I think their little audience in attendance would have been a little freaked out. God forbid!

I’ve seen pic of Adam with his glasses on before and I like them actually because they are the every day Adam, not the stage Adam, it’s good for him to come off the stage even in a public broadcast and be himself not giving a hoot what others may think. IMO.

Anoop seemed a little more hyped than usual, maybe he was all happy about Jon stewart.

I don’t like those glasses on Adam but maybe he had a certain reason for covering his eyes. Also I agree, Megan would not have been my likely choice to read that opening that I’m sure was written for her to read.

I love the way Adam always is thinking about his friends and never pushes himself 1st. (just like on AI). He has the grace to know when to act up and when not. I think he did well. Kris can be hard to understand when he speaks. Maybe they chose Megan as a nuetral party, because if they would have chosen Adam to speak, Fans would have been yelling that he was trying to one up Kris. So many politics involved…..*sigh*

Sorry, but just have to say if they wanted a top placing person that was short – why not go with Kris, the winner? He was also standing in the front with the girls in the final pictures – lol :smile_wp:

This was so random and painful to watch. It’s hard work being an obsessed Adam fan *sigh*

I like adams glasses but then again I like everything he wears/does! Anoops dancing made me LOL. I like megan as spokesperson becuz u don’t see as much of her , she’s the prettiest IMO, she has a nice speaking voice and is very easy 2 understand!

I’m sorry, but I give Adam a free pass on things I would NEVER find attractive with any man. When I was 12 and in LOVE with Andy Gibb, it was like, “What the hell is up with those snakeskin boots?” But Adam transcends all my usual turnoffs (jewelry on men, makeup, nail polish … ). With Adam, I’m totally fine with all of it. He is who he is and it’s awesome ‘“  I forgive him fashion choices that I wouldn’t let Clooney, Pitt or Depp get away with.

Those glasses, however, are a deal breaker. It’s not that I don’t agree with how they look (I don’t, btw), but it’s how they make HIM look. It takes A LOT of work to make Adam look not great. Of all the killer designer glasses in all the world (and there are MANY), the vast majority enhance a person’s attractiveness.

Yet Adam manages to find the one pair in the civilized world that make him look less than his stunning self. GLASSES = FAIL.

That was like watching one of those photos in a Harry Potter movie. I liked the ominous, Jawsy background music. Who knew that Nasdaq came with background music? And I like Adam’s old man glasses. Looks like he should be running some pawn shop in the Bronx. And you could practically feel the giant, collective WTF? rising from all of their brains.

I liked that they had Megan do the dirty work. Injecting randomness wherever possible is a good way for them to tilt at the never-ending competitiveness of this thing.

I’ll bet this is the most fun the announcer guy has had in closing out the day. Eh, Megan was fine for me, she did a nice job.

Kris was so sweet to motion for Allison to come to the front where she could see, or be seen. She must not have seen him, but Adam noticed and then made sure she got up there. Great guys!

The economy is still struggling, so why not have fun with it all? I remember last year they all seemed so stiff (IIRC). It was weird watching last year, during this one I chuckled a few times.

I really liked how AWKward this was and liked the random choosing of Megan speaking and liked how they decided to do silly poses for their shots. They are American Idol contestants at the NASDAQ, that is pretty effing silly and random. So acting that way? to me was completely appropriate. That goes double when that weird music came on to countdown and they started a jam out/dance/rave thing. I liked those dorks all the more for doing those things. They were cracking me up, and each other. Good times and yeah, I approve.

Well, now, there’s 7 minutes I’ll never get back. Bet they’re all saying the same thing.

He’s been practicing his ‘hiding in plain site” skills, which he did very well for being 6’1″ or so (the or so is if he was wearing boots). Except for showing himself as the gentleman he is by helping Allison get in front he did a good job of blending in.

I’m glad Megan got to be spokesperson. The top 2 seem to get all the other stuff, and it gave somebody else a chance at being in the spotlight.

I think it was nice of them letting Megan be the spokesperson – she’s gotten some of the most flack on the tour (from reviewers, etc.) and I feel kind of bad for her. Good to let her have the spotlight for a change rather than Kris and Adam.

ETA: I concur that those glasses on Adam are pretty dork-tastic.

I love that Adam didn’t do some silly pose. He just stood there in all his glamtastic glory. No embellishment needed.

How many years have the AI’ers been doing this Nasdaq thing? I’ve never really seen the connection, but oh well. I didn’t get to plan their itinerary.
