Okay, I’m going to give this show another try this year. The past two seasons have had contestants that annoyed me so much (I’m looking at you Marie & Chloris) that I literally could not watch. I’m a little concerned about Steve O, as he’s totally effing obnoxious and not funny at all.

Now, David Alan Grier actually is Funny, so that might help.

I’m curious – I think LT is one of those guys who played the game so hard his body is pretty battered. It will be interesting to see how agile he still is. Plus – he’s about 50, I think.

He was once the major force to be reckoned with in the NFL – and then he became a junkie asshole. But, I believe he’s been sober for more than 10 years, and he’s a fun commentary guy.

He and Shawn Johnson are both athletes who achieved greatness in their fields by being awesome competitors so it should be fun. I love watching the people who just don’t want to lose so bad that they’ll actually really try.

I’m not commenting on Denise Richards, other than to say that I cannot see that woman without wanting to punch her in the face. I don’t expect that to change.

Is there anything yet saying which pros they’ll be paired with? I know Julianne won’t be back this season.. she’s “focusing on her music career” and touring. Opening for someone (and yes, Chuck Wicks is her boyfriend. And yes, he is hot.).

But I’m curious which pros will be back and who is paired with who.

Okay, People Magazine says that the pairings will be announced on Thursday. Weird.

It also says that the newly engaged couple Maks and Karina will be back competing against each other. So, who wants to bet that Jewel is paired with Maks and Ty is paired with Karina?

If that’s true about Chelsie Hightower, I’m THRILLED to hear that. I’m not even a big DWTS fan, but I loved Chelsie on SYTYCD. I think she was the best ballroom dancer they’ve ever had on there and will be GREAT on DWTS.

I meant to add that it seems kind of an unfair advantage to pair Julianne with Chuck. Besides the fact that they’ll almost surely have massive fan support up front as a result of their relationship, it seems to me nothing is really stopping them from practicing and rehearsing, which will put them a step ahead of everybody else.

Oh hell no, I freaked out about this very fact upthread. I think not enough people really know who he is, because the presence of that man on DWTS contains so much potential for reality show hilarity it cannot be believed. He’s such a geeky eccentric mess, and I lurve him for it.

Yay! Chelsie Hightower!! I was not excited about the cast, but with the Houghs (I assume Derek will be on again), Lacey and Chelsie there, it will be fun after all :0)

The worst line-up ever. But I’m not invested in DWTS. And when did it become the token black woman, the token black/minority athlete, the token Olympian? Is this the lineup going into the future?

The Julianne/Wick pairing, if it does come to pass, may bite them in the butt. The whole point of this show is to slap two strangers together and see how they learn to work together in an accelerated time frame under immense pressure.
It would present a terribly unfair advantage as they would already know how to communicate and read one another. No votes for them boo hiss.

It am a bit curious to see how the detox, counseling, and therapy may have affected Steve-O’s demeanor. He has put a lot of work into turning things around for himself, so lets not judge future behavior on past problems. Clean slate and all, eh?

Some of these unheard of types better be sporting some serious personality if they expect to hold my attention. I’ll know better after the first night but right now I am disappointed in the line up.

I didn’t even watch last season and am not sure if this crowd will draw me in either. I think they should take a page from AI and not have the show on practially back to back.

I recently found out that a good friend of mine from high school works behind the scenes on this show. He has tons of pics of himself from last season at the wrap party with all the stars etc. on his facebook page. I may have to watch just to watch for his name in the credits!

I must be the only person in the world who doesn’t know who Shawn Johnson is :) In fact I don’t know who most of these people are so I’m not very excited at this point.

I know who Woz is from watching KG’s “Life on the D-List” and think he should be funny. They’re still friends, so maybe she’ll be in the audience.

Jewel will be great, and the match-ups suggested between her and her SO and Kareena/Max are intriguing.

Okay maybe I’m a tiny bit excited. But always too many football players and hiphop/rappers. Why not another figure skater? Plus I don’t believe anyone from SYTYCD will be on, as they are already a dancer and it wouldn’t be fair. Oh you mean as a pro? Okay I get it.

Going over the list, I’d have to say Ty Murray looks to be the dark horse candidate.
And even if he isn’t, at some point in the competition we’ll see him ridin’a dark horse.

Is DWTS that desperate for the ratings? I thought they were doing OK? If so, why this line-up, and esp. Denise Richards, is she trying to redeem herself. She was on the view, and she was battered by the “girls” for her constant harassment of Sheen.

I think they have to take the celebrities who are willing to do it. Not that many are. It’s a lot of work, it’s hard, it’s an opportunity to make a fool of yourself. Or celebrities don’t need the exposure.

I am so excited to see Shawn Johnson.! I just hope she gets Mark *fingers crossed* I’m really glad Chelsie will be on DWTS; finally a real ballroom professional from SYTYCD; I have to admit I never cared for Lacey and I was hoping she wouldn’t be on this season. Oh well, the least they can do is to get rid of all those dances they added from last season and return to their old format. Either way, I am so looking forward to this season!

Turn out the two new pros will be Chelsie and Dmitry (season 2) from SYTYCD. With Lacey, we will have three pro dancers in DWTS.
