Season 8 5 Song EP Available At Walmart

I broke down and bought the CD. It’s okay. Interestingly some of the others other than the big two are actually some of my favorites on the CD. Anoop and Scott sound particularly good as does Michael Sarver.

Thanks for the heads up about the duet CD. I didn’t see that one at Walmart when I bought the compilation season 8 CD. I’ll have to check it out.

I actually loved Rock Week a lot. It might have been my favorite theme week, actually (loved the way Slash worked with the Idols, as I did with Jamie Foxx). Aside from Dream On, I thought all of the performances were good, INCLUDING Kris and Danny’s duet (nice harmonies) and Kris’s Come Together (unfairly dissed). IMO, Adam and Adam/Allison smashed it, but they were “S8′s resident rockers” (Randy), so no surprise there. But I downloaded WLL and SR and might downloaded CT, so I’m good, tho the price is good.

ETA: Well, I wrote this before I saw the actual tracks; I didn’t notice they were not all from Rock Week. Sorry. And thanks for ixnay on the Scream! But why no Cry Baby? I loved Allison’s performance and she got unfairly criticized (copycat performance? Really?)

Anyway…It makes sense that they put on Ain’t No Sunshine, but I did like Come Together. Thank GOD they put on WLL and not MW. *whew* But it also occurred to me that I don’t have the studio recordings of any of these! I have ANS, WLL, and SR from the performance vids, and none of the others. I typically liked the performance vids better than the studio versions (exceptions: NB for both Idols, and yes, I do own them, I admit, and One). YMMV.

I actually loved Renegade. When you watch the CD there were parts where Danny was looking at Kris and they were connecting. Michael Slezak chose to focus on the one time when Kris was looking at Danny and he wasn’t responding. I thought they sounded great together. I wonder why they don’t have a solo of Allison on the CD. She may have come in 4th, but she is really, really good.

LOL I agree suebrody. Glad they put a different Danny song on this CD rather than Dream On. Also agree about Come Together. I thought Kris absolutely rocked it.

This is pretty random. I got what I want off it already, like the other CD.

By the way, I like the “Slow Ride” duet on the show, but I bought the recording and have never got into it. I even prefer listening to my video version on my iPod over it.

Talk about random. I don’t even understand it. Judging by the CD sales, I don’t see how this EP could be that worthy.
Oh well, I’m sure there will be people buying it.

I already have WLL and SR of course, but I wish this had Come Together on it. I waited too long to purchase it from iTunes, and now only the video is available. This would have been way more cohesive if they had just released the tunes from Rock Week.

Totally random mix of songs. Maybe they should have called it — things that we didn’t put on the CD? I guess this is why they invented digital downloads.

I don’t think this will fly. Most fans have purchased their i-tunes already and burned them on CDs or i-pod.

I agree that this new CD is just a bit too random for my tastes. A 5 song CD for 5 bucks…Plus No Matt Giraud means me no buy. Sorry.

But I agree that Renegade and Kris’ Come together ROCKED!! I was not expecting renegade to be that good based on how they performed it live, but it really came together in the recording (particularly for Danny). Come Together is just made of awesome and is one of the only (as well as falling slowly) of kris’ songs that I actually bought.

Slow ride (the studio) was not as impressive. The inappropriate lyrics for Allison, and the fact that I rarely knew when it was Adam or Allison singing was too distracting. Sorry, Listened to it once and gave up on it. so I cannot buy a CD with that song being 1 of 5 on it. Not worth even 5 dollars…

I bought this CD as soon as I found out it was available. The only thing that would have made it better for me is if they had put Come Together on it instead of Aint No Sunshine (I like ANS but CT seems like it would have fit the CD better).

I have all of the songs already on my iPod and all of them are on my 25 most played list so I decided the CD was something I needed to own.

Is that the picture they are using? Honestly, I would buy it just for the picture if it had better Adam and Danny photos. I hate the Adam pic. Kris and Allison look great. Danny, even without a smile, looks better than Adam. I hate that picture of Adam. I guess I already said that. LOL.

The photo montage is also odd because Adam looks like he’s 5’4″!

Looks like they just slapped it together. There are far better photo compilations all over AI fan sites!

Q3: How funny! I didn’t even notice that Adam was “short” in this pic. I was just fixated on how much this doesn’t look like him. lol.

Q3 beat me to it. Adam is positions to look shorter than Kris, but it just looks weird… his shoulders are lower since he’s so much taller, it looks as though he’s bending his knees, but we can’t see them (well, if I didn’t know better/hadn’t seen the full pictures before).

WOW!! Since I really like that pic of Adam it surprised me for so many of you to be saying you don’t like it. I hope Adam likes it since it is also featured prominently on his adamofficial website and his myspace.

Anyway, what seems oddest to me about the CD pics is not that Adam looks small but that Kris looks big. After meeting Kris and seeing what a tiny, little guy he really is it looks like an optical illusion for him to look so big on that cover.

I already bought all the music I wanted on Itunes. I can’t see buying this too. Ohhh and I really wish they’d quit using that pic of Adam. It really does not do him justice at all!! There are just way too many other really good ones out there that would be so hot.

I hate that pic of Adam. HATE IT. And WTF with Matt? He was Top 5. This was not just the Rock Week compilation, as I thought earlier. Was it like this last year? Did Brooke get cut out of things, too? I don’t think it’s fair that he only gets two songs to sing on the Tour, not counting the medley, and not three. Well, maybe he will get signed soon…

And I still prefer the live versions of nearly ever song to the recorded ones…JMHO.

I hate Walmart with a fiery passion. So, even if I didn’t already own the songs on this cd that I want, I wouldn’t walk into their store or visit their online site if they were giving this away for free.

Pretty soon, I think I’m just going to start boycotting artists in general who give Walmart exclusives.

I like Matt, but why should he be included? No one who placed behind him is on this CD, so it’s not a slight. Top 4 is usually considered the next milestone after Top 10. Besides, he really was handed 5th on silver platter because technically, he was voted out on the first top 7 night.

Note that Allison only gets a duet on this. Not that it matters– it’s just repackaging of songs that have been available forever.

I have to pile on here! I cannot begin to say how much I DETEST that picture of Adam. It looks absolutely nothing like him – I just don’t get it. I won’t even go to adamofficial.com because they use that photo. I really hate it that much. It looks like Adam wasn’t available for pictures that day so they got some random guy and “Adam-ized” his look! Maybe that’s why he looks shorter than both Kris and Danny!

Top 4 is the next milestone when three of the top four are signed by 19E. It’s as simple as that.

This EP, IMHO, is just another way for WalMart to scam their customers. God, do I hate that store!

Besides, why would I want a copy of a song by whats his face and the duet where whats his face took all the credit even though he sang the crappiest…ah Danny Boy, I’m going to miss ya when I can’t rag on you anymore.

Seriously, I really wish that the music industry would cut its exclusive with WalMart. The store and its policy and its cheap prices on stuff you don’t need and its over-priced items on the essentials. It preys on the working poor and I think it stinks.
