I think you’re right. He looked dejected and I don’t blame him. I hope he gets a chance to redeem himself next week. I feel sorry for the way he was treated and I hope Paula has apologized to him. That’s the least she can do. I heard her on Ryan’s radio show this morning and it was all about her and trying to explain her predicament. I never heard an apology to Jason. Hopefully, she did it in private. David Cook is my favorite, but I like Jason, too.

I think his fans saved him and there is NO need to adjust the votes. I thought his performance in FIBJ was fine, but Jason’s heart just was not in his second number. Poor guy, I wanted to give him a hug.

I like the idea of Kimberly Locke as a judge. I also think Sheila E. would be good. Paula HAS to be replaced.

It’s so obvious that TPTB want the Davids in the finale at this point. They wouldn’t have gotten those extreme tonguebaths otherwise. Although IMO, Archie sucked on both songs.

Simon echoes what he told Kristy Lee when she pulled the patriotic card, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“That was a smart choice.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  Simon never comments on his vocal performance.

Goddamnit, I was so pissed when he just said it was a “smart choice blah blah blah check check *insert extraneous crap here*”! I mean, hypocrisy much? Simon’s always the one who keeps saying that this is “a singing competition”. And even though it really isn’t, it still annoys me to no end how hypocritical and annoying the judges can be.

I am not sure since I didn’t actually hear it, my coworker did, but I seriously hope it is just a silly rumor someone saw on a less reputable Idol site than this one and carelessly reported it…

I have really really enjoyed Idol this year but last night left me cold. The way they play with the idols and the inequity makes me ill.

I really thought I was watching just for enjoyment this year, but I think I am way more invested than I thought. In my fantasy – I imagine the finale with David C vs Jason – both singing their hearts out- and DC winning. But I agree with others here – TPTB deserve Archie. But I won’t be watching or voting.

I think Simon saved Syeshaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦.intentionally. Reverse pyschology so to speak. To get her fans and the casual voter stirred up.

I completely agree that he did that on purpose. He knows EXACTLY what happens when he does that. But, I’m not sure if he was doing it to enable Jason’s ouster or Brooke’s. Who knows, maybe Simon is as sick of Archie as I am lol.

I hate this show right now. I want the biggest, cheesiest pointiest pose ever tonight. If these kids come out and sing “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” as a chorus while gathered around a piano, I’m going to lose it.

Add another Castro fan to the oneà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s who hope that if he really got the lowest number of votes, let him go. Donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t drag it out and make next week a double elimination. Whatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s the point?
ETA: I do hope that, either way, some sort of apology is made to Jason, or at least an acknowledgement that it must have been difficult for him to sing his second song given that it had already been reviewed.

I agree. Give him a nice boot, or allow him to stay without making it seem like he’s staying undeservingly.

Brooke may very likely have gotten the least amount of votes. If there are no eliminations, it could be her saving grace.

If any of this is true, then I would be happy as a babblin’ Brooke fan b/c then with next week’s theme, she could finally do something that is not restrictive (hopefully).

I find, too, that judging the contestants off their actual vocal recordings is so much better with the live performance stresses removed. I think Castro is pretty wooden and lifeless as a performer but his Memory studio version was just beautiful and while I thought David Cook did fabulous on Music of the Night, the studio version left me cold. Too bad that isn’t taken into consideration during the judging process.
