Holy crap! American Idol season 10 winner, Scotty McCreery, was held up at gunpoint this morning, according to the News Observer!

Three armed men robbed singer Scotty McCreery and some friends in an apartment in the southern part of the city early Monday, police said.

No one was hurt when the trio entered the apartment at 2130 Wolf Tech Lane and demanded wallets and money from the people there and took electronics, police spokesman Jim Sughrue said.

The robbery took place about 1:45 a.m. A resident of the apartment who was trying to sleep in a bedroom called 911 to report the incident. He said the three men were armed with two pistols and an assault rifle and told everyone to get down on the floor.

“They took everything they had,” the caller said on a recording of the call release Monday afternoon. The caller’s name was not released.

McCreery is an N.C. State student.

The details are sketchy at the moment, but as long as Scotty and his friends are unhurt, that’s all that matters!

ETA: The News & Observer clarified via twitter that the robbery took place at Scotty’s friend’s apartment.

If there are updates, I’ll add them to this post.

From ABCLocal:

In a 911 call released by police, one of the people in the apartment told an operator “they took everything we have.”

“They were like ‘Get down. Get on the floor and give us everything you got,'” said the caller.

The caller said the robbers told the group to count down from 100 before they were allowed to get up.

Neighbors who spoke with ABC11 described hearing a group of people charging up the stairs.

“All you heard was yelling like ‘Who are you? What are you doing here? ‘ for a good five minutes. It was just yelling,” said one neighbor.

The woman said the next thing she heard was people running down the stairs again and soon afterwards police arrived.

“We just thought it was a bunch of college students partying until that point,” said the woman.

UPDATE: Listen to the 911 call. Tape reveals they were on the floor face down with guns to their heads.

About last night’s robbery: “Yes, it was definitely a very scary night. Luckily, my friends and I are safe and the Raleigh PD is on the case.

I will share more when the time is right, but as of now we do not want to do or say anything that could hinder the investigation. Thanks to everyone for the prayers and support. A huge thank you to the Raleigh PD for their quick response and hard work in solving this case.”
