Scotty McCreery Releases “The Dash” Video To Honor Veterans

Scotty McCreery releases “The Dash” video to honor the true story of Lance Corporal Andrew Carter on Veterans Day.

While serving in the US Marines on his second tour in Afghanistan, Carpenter came under enemy fire on Valentine’s Day, 2011. He died 5 days later. His wife was carrying this first child, Landon, at the time of Andrew’s death.

The song is written by Kyle Jacobs (Kellie Pickler’s husband) and Preston Brust, and appears on the American Idol season 10 winner’s sophomore album, See You Tonight, released in 2013.

The video is filled with photos and still from Lance Corporal Andrews’s life and death. His little boy is adorable. You might want to have a box of tissues ready…

A big thanks to all service men and women who have served our country. Happy Veterans Day everyone!
