Scotty McCreery Opens For Brad Paisley’s Virtual Reality Tour (VIDEO)

Scotty McCreery began his nationwide tour opening for Brad Paisley on the country star’s Virtual Reality tour at the  Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapid, Michigan on January 12.  The tour traveled to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and then on to St. Paul.  The tour picks up again in Kansas City, Missouri on January 19.  The Band Perry is also on the bill.

“Almost time to hit the stage! Huge thanks to @BradPaisley for having me out on the #VirtualRealityTour ! It’s gonna be a blast!” Scotty tweeted before hitting the stage in Grand Rapids.

After the show, Scotty tweeted, “The crowd at the end of the show! What a night! So honored and blessed to be out on the road w/ Brad and the Band Perry http://pic.twitter.com/RwjjvJWn”

    mj  Just a correction.  The 2nd stop was the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the 3rd stop at XCel Energy Center in St Paul. The Blue plaid shirt videos are Milwaukee; red plaid Grand Rapids; and navy solid shirt St Paul.

    I like WTT, but I think it’s a fall song and who knows how many singles he’ll get?

    Watching the top video is the closest I’ve ever come to a country music concert and was amazed how completely foreign they seem to me (if that’s a typical show, complete with roaming mascots). It is fascinating how different the stage flavor and theatrics are for each music genre.

    And…..Scotty-mania continues in full force, it seems. The incredibly loud screaming reception when he comes out on stage with BP was pretty impressive, given that BP is the headlining act and one of the most popular country music stars today.

    Thanks MJ for the videos. They’re so much clearer than some of them I’ve seen.  I particularily liked Scotty performing “WTT” and “WYNOMH”.

    Good going Scotty.  I don’t know which song I like best at the moment, but it’s a good think when I start singing along with both songs.  So dang catchy.  Both could be radio friendly.  Let’s get TTWG out of the way already, go top 20 and finito.

    Not sure how typical Brad is for a country artist. I’d say he’s pretty cerebral compared to many. And also VERY high tech.

    I should add he’s one of my favourites. :)

    Nowadays, some of the concerts are on DVDs, which is nice. Our library even has some.

    All country music concerts are different. Taylor Swift concerts are more like the pop concerts with all the glitz. Kenny Chesney concerts are very laid-back & like a Jimmy Buffett concert. George Strait concerts center more on just the singing & songs & less on the stage & theatrics.

    Brad’s concerts have some humor in them because of his humorous songs & since he always likes to pull pranks. However, since the song Celebrity is a funny song he brings out a mascot. That is the only song he has a mascot. If you see any of the other videos of Brad on the current tour, his performances are normal for any concert in any genre. This tour he even has light shows during his set.

    Scotty sounded awesome and solid on all his numbers.
    He totally held his own on his duet with BP.

    I love his live performances on WTT and WMNOYH.  Either one can easily be his next single …..but then his album is choc-ful of potential hit singles awaiting to be released anyways.

    I still believe that Scotty joining Brad on tour is a match made in heaven.  
    They ( and even TBP) complement each other in a lot of ways.
    I hope the tour makes it’s way down here in Florida soon.

    I know it’s not uptempo, but I still think Dirty Dishes could be a huge hit. It reminds me of Jesus Take the Wheel.

    And I like Clear as Day and Back on the Ground a lot too.

    Scotty was so natural and relaxed on WMNOYH, one of my favs.  I still love Out of Summertime but maybe that will be a distant single.  WTT I dont much care for, too generic.  I also love YMTLG.

    From what I have read, in an audience of 12,000, the places are full with everyone in their seat, at 7:30 sharp, for the opening act.  Good for you, Scotty!

    Good videos MJ, glad you waited for some with decent video/audio to post them!  Scotty looks so natural and comfortable on that stage and the crowd response makes me feel real happy for him.  He does seem like a good fit on Brad’s tour.  I think there’s a good video of Dirty Dishes out there, but I forgot where I saw it! lol.  DD is a personal favorite of mine.  I have CAD and can honestly say it’s a seriously good country album.  I can see a lot of hits on that album.  Way to go Scotty, you’re moving right along at a good pace!  Bravo!

    Scotty is so good live – when he comes on in Celebrity the screams are just like when we came on during the AI tour.  I have seen statements that ask if the concerts start on time because she doesn’t want to miss one minute of Scotty and lots of folks saying they didn’t know who he was until the concert and now are fans

    He’s just SO GOOD live, it’s not even funny. I hope good quality videos of ILYTB/TTWG/WITC/DD pop up too.

    Yep, those screams we hear are very reminiscent of what we heard seeing the vids from the AI tour.  Gotta admit I loved seeing the “Scotty Mcreery is Brad Paisley’s love child” in the celebrity vid.   LOL! 

    He is truly a natural on the stage.  It’s great seeing these established artists take both Scotty and Lauren under their wings and for them to have the privilege of having this once in a lifetime learning experience.

    No shows in California either. Otherwise I’d have a ticket. As for Brad and his pranks, Lone Star got him good one time. They changed the ‘Brad Paisley’ on his backdrop to ‘Bad Parsley? Lone Star Rules!’ It took a while before he noticed it.

    Jeffrey…that is soooo funny!!  So happy for all the screaming for Scotty.  Looks like he’s having a blast!  Hope he sells lots more cd’s and gets back in the top 10.

    Closest one to California is in Las Vegas.  But Scotty has a solo concert in Lancaster on 1/29. ~60 miles north of Burbank.

    Wow – these videos are great!  Scotty looks and sounds so good on stage.  Watching him sing You Make That Look Good - he is having such a good time and I’m so glad to see him playing guitar again.  The reviews and comments have been wonderful.  I think being on tour with Brad is going to be so much fun for Scotty and so great for him to learn from someone like Brad.  They seem like a good fit together.

    Looks like Brad just got Scotty again. He has a picture of Scotty’s head on a bodybuilder’s body that shows on the backdrop, asking if Scotty is on steroids. And Scotty has a picture with the mascot from Celebrity and notes that Brad has a really big head. I’d post them but don’t know how.

    I wish I liked Brad P or MBP enough to go see the concert. I would love to support Scotty by attending the concert.  He was my guy got s10 and I always try to see my pic in concert.  But I am thrilled that Scotty is on tour with well respected acts where he will only garner more new fans. :)
