Here’s to hoping Scotty fever is never through…

Better get comfortable.  The madness will likely go on for some time!  Just sayin’.

Be prepared for a long wait! The “madness” you noted is a lifelong event and what you find “annoying”, Scotty’s fans(myself included) find endearing.

Well I doubt he ever thought of people following his career and girl screaming his name, especially when he has always stayed true to who he is, a good homeboy kid who values education and balance in life. He could as  well kill the madness over him by himself by choosing to attending high school during the busy sales time of 2021 and next, university, but that hasn’t stop a lot of people from supporting him.

The last time I checked, he has more than 500k of follower on twitter and nearly 1m of facebook likes – these numbers have increased day by day. So a lot of people in the bubble has moved on, but he has also gained new fans, even when he isn’t on tour.

From the last time he competed in AI, he has growed up as a performer and improved his singing skill at the same time – I don’t find him annoying when he returned to AI, performed very well and got the treatment he deserved. He has fixed a lot of his stage mannerism and will be a true pro performer with time.

He is just a simple, boy-next door kid who hopes to use music to touch people’s hearts and is willing to take a step back to sort out his priorities in life.

    Congratulation for all AI-related nominations.

Scotty madness=the type of success that the so called Idol bubble claims to want for every American Idol.  Don’t really know what’s wrong with that.
Only a handful of Idols have achieved this type of success, and Scotty is on the verge of joining them.  I know it’s too early to tell whether he will achieve longevity, but I for one am rooting for him.  Would his success be more palpatable to some in the Idol bubble if it were any other genre than Country?  Perhaps.  But numbers don’t lie, and I have a feeling that when Haley’s album comes out and all the numbers are in, sales will show that the order of the top 4 was as America chose–Scotty, Lauren, Haley and James.  If anything, from a commercial aspect, the numbers will show that America got it right in Season 10.  All I can say to Scotty is “You go boy.  Do it on your terms and do it the way you want to, not the way everyone expects you to.”  Amongst all these singing show contestants, he is a breath of fresh air.

Congrats to Scotty and Mandisa.  Mandisa is a successful contemporary gospel artist who has received Grammy and Dove nominations for her albums.

Congrats to Scotty to the nominations keep coming. It sure feels nice to be a Scotty fan. Not everybody likes his voice or music or persona and not everybody understands the success he´s having. No surprise. Nobody can please everybody and there is no need for everybody to like Scotty. He has plenty fans inside and outside the US and he´s gaining more all the time. I´m hooked on him and I´m convinced that he´s just at the beginning of a very long career and if some want to call it madness, I´m SO proud to be part of it

    Congrats to Scotty & Mandisa

Wow, congrats to Scotty and Mandisa!

Since Mandisa’s been nominated for multiple Grammy and Dove awards now, I think Idol should invite her back at some point. :)

Congrats Scotty!  Sooo proud of you!

That kind of recognition and has got to mean something in the music industry.

One would think…will really celebrate if/when country radio acknowledges him – they are the missing link and seem to be doing their best to bury him while they promote others who can’t sing or who don’t really even sing country.  Ah well – one mustn’t give up hope must one!

Congrats to both Scotty and Mandisa. I am proud of both of you for following your dreams and being successful at it.

Being nominated for Billboard awards is a huge deal….especially for a newcomer. Hopefully, it will silence the “fan voted doesn’t count” award critics.

There is nothing about this kid I don’t love. Congratulations Scotty!

If you call it “madness” … so be it. You cant please everybody. Everybody has his own preference and favorites. But let me tell you this….” you brace yourself because the madness will be there for a long time”. Scotty is going to stay in the business for a long time. America voted the right one….Is sales or numbers or recognitions not enough to prove this ? He is doing solo concerts in big venues to a sold out audience.

Go Scotty. They will not be able to put you down ( this is what you call ‘crab mentality’ ) because your fans will always be there to support you.

flactyguy: Being nominated for Billboard awards is a huge deal….especially for a newcomer. Hopefully, it will silence the “fan voted doesn’t count” award critics.

It won’t because the Billboard album award nominations are based purely on sales numbers, and the New Artist nominations are based on a combination of statistics including album sales, downloads, airplay, and stuff like that (and to the degree that airplay counts, the other nominees who get airplay on urban and pop formats are going to be way ahead of a country-only act).

But, it’s nice to see Scotty’s success acknowledged. Even if the industry attributes Scotty’s success to AI, he’s still sold more albums than any other new act in 2011/2012. It’s a nice foundation for the future.

I’m a believer in Scotty’s ability to grow into a significant act on the country scene and I’m very glad to see him committed to maintaining a life outside music at this age. It’ll help him to grow in to a man separate from his celebrity and career, and in addition to giving him an educational foundation I think it could benefit his songwriting in the long run too.
