I am upset that Lauren Alaina’s name is not on the list to perform this year – she did a outstanding job last year.

According to her site she is performing so I would guess one of two things she isn’t now (I think unlikely) or as the add says those performing include those named so I am guessing there are more who are performing, either way it will become clear in due time.

A very good promotional appearance for Scotty. I was a little surprised
that John Legend and Katherine Jenkins are performing – are they trying
    to cross over to country?

fuzzywuzzy: A very good promotional appearance for Scotty. I was a little surprised that John Legend and Katherine Jenkins are performing – are they trying to cross over to country?

It’s probably a way to try to get some ratings from people outside the genre. Katherine Jenkins was on DWTS right? I expect they’ll both be doing duets with country acts. Much like Colbie Caillat (proofreading fail in the poster), who has a duet with Brad Paisley on her holiday album. Brad hasn’t been announced as a performer at CMA Christmas yet but I wouldn’t be surprised if he came in a 2nd round announcement. John Legend actually performed with Big & Rich at the ACMs a few years ago and did a good job, so this won’t be his 1st country show.

I’m not seeing Blake Shelton’s name there. I wonder if he’s got NBC exclusivity going on for his holiday album promo. He could be added later too though.

Glad to see Scotty’s name on there–excited to see him perform some of his Christmas music!!

Glad to hear there might be a 2nd round announcement…

Katherine Jenkins has a Christmas album coming out. None of the songs she’s doing features a country artist. I think her appearance on the tv special is more due to her relationship with ABC (DWTS contestant & frequent guest singer).

John Legend has an album coming out soon. But no tracks & guest artists have been confirmed. It’s possible he’s doing something with a country artist. He has worked with country artists in the past (Big & Rich). However, like Katherine it could also be due to his relationship with ABC (Duets judge/mentor)

Thanks for the 411. Also, thanks windmills. That all makes sense now.

Lauren was on tour with Jennifer, so I’d be surprised if they didn’t try to squeeze her in somewhere, unless she has a schedule conflict.

Kimberly from Little Big Town had her on her GAC cooking show (I saw it this past Sunday morning), so I would expect they continue to support her.

Scotty has the Christmas album so I’m sure their label as usual has an all out press to move CDs.  Tick tock, no one buys Xmas music 9 months out of the year.

How nice to see Scotty´s performence confirmed now. Last year his sales got a very pretty boost after CMA and I´ll expect this to happen for this year´s  x mas album. Apart from CMA and his White House performing I hope he´ll have many more TV appearence to get his songs exposed. (what a pleasing thought this is)

So glad Scotty and Keith are going to be on CMA Christmas!  Been waiting for an annoucement about this.  It was a really good show last year.  I’m a little confused about some of these artists – don’t understand when it is a Country special, why it can’t just be country. But I guess it broadens the audience.
