Scotty McCreery “It’s Alright” – The Grand Ole Opry (VIDEO)

Watch Scotty McCreery do the Elvis thang as he covers “That’s Alright Mama” on the Grand Ole Opry stage. The performance took place over the weekend, on Saturday, February 2.

If you’ll remember, Scotty sang “It’s All Right” during the Rock Hall themed episode of American Idol two years ago (Can you believe it’s been that long!)

I would suggest enjoying this video while you can. The Opry is very aggressive about taking down performance videos from You Tube…

    Thanks for posting the vid!

Love how much fun Scotty has when performing.:))  Some cool things about his performance…he was the final act of the evening–pimp spot!

And the introduction was so cool…Bill Anderson, “I love it when the girls come down here to take my picture….Oh, I know you’re not here to take my picture, you’re here for someone else.  He isn’t here.  Then, later…Well, here he is…Eddy Stubbs.”

    More fun…
Trent Lassiter ?@TVLassiterI’ve got a new @ScottyMcCreery song stuck in my head….must be some good stuff.

Scotty’s sister’s boyfriend was there when Scotty was rehearsing/recording this weekend…

    Still makes me smile!

He really does channel his inner Elvis very well! I think if they were to do a biopic on Elvis, Scotty should get the part!

  • mouse999

    Elvis was sexy.

Here is Scotty’s interview backstage at the opry.

He says they will be doing new songs from his album on tour and will be singing new covers also. He said one of them will be a Garth Brooks cover. He also wouldn’t answer whether he had a girlfriend or not(which he does!).

They have already made several movies about Elvis. :)

No major biopics though :) I know there have been movies with him as an actor, but none about his life.

  • girlygirltoo

Actually there have been major biopics about Elvis  although were made for tv projects– Kurt Russell was nominated for an Emmy Award for his performance and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers won a Golden Globe for his performance :)

Things are going so well for Scotty and makes it a pleasure to follow his career. It was fun to read the many, many tweets about his performance at the Opry- and especially this one:

    CountryMusicIsLove ?@cmilove
Is that Justin Bieber? Nope, it’s @ScottyMcCreery at the @opry and the girls are screaming like crazy! http://

The CMA will announce its annual donation to the Keep the Music
Playing program on Jan. 19 when Scotty McCreery hosts a concert at
Schermerhorn Symphony Center that features some of Nashville’s student musicians.

This was in the Billboard update last night…assume they mean Feb. 19?  Still…wonderful!

  • Lexie O’Neill

Found the news item for above…it is Feb. 19.

The Peach Pickers ?@ThePeachPickersThanks to @ScottyMcCreery for recording
one of our new songs last week! We can’t wait to hear it.

Among the songs that they have written together are Shelton’s “All About Tonight”, Josh Turner’s “All Over Me”, Jack Ingram’s “Barefoot and Crazy”, Brooks & Dunn’s “Put a Girl in It”, Joe Nichols’ “Gimmie That Girl”, and Bryan’s “I Don’t Want This Night to End”. All three members of the team have also have co-writers’ credits outside their collaborations.
Hopefully Scotty will have as much success with this song as the other songs that The Peach Pickers have written for those other artists.

I am sooooo waiting for it.

Got to see the video before the Opry pulled it down.  Scotty did a great job on that song.  The screams from the crowd is great to see – love when he gets a reception like that.  The Opry is such a special place for country music, I am glad they keep inviting him back.

  • Larc

Scotty is busy paying his dues with things like Keep the Music Playing All Stars Concert.  It looks good on him and the additional exposure never hurts.  :)
