Scotty McCreery has been recording new music for his 3rd studio album, Now, the American Idol season 10 winner has released the first single to radio!
“Southern Belle,” written by Jason Saenz and Sean McConnell is your typical summertime country jam, extolling the virtues of a good ole southern belle.
“Ain’t nothin’ ring like a Southern Belle / Those angels singin’ down in the Bible Belt / Well brother, if lovin’ those sweet tea, blue jean dreams is wrong / Well, I can’t help it / Ain’t nothin’ ring like a Southern Belle.
“Saturday night with the red lipstick / Just like Scarlet, she’s gone with the wind / Sunday mornin’ with the honey biscuits, have mercy / You can go around the block, ‘round the town, ‘round the world / But there’s nothin’ like a down-home girl.”
You know the drill! Complete with the obligatory reference to blue jeans and sweet tea! Nevertheless, the tune is radio ready. I would not be surprised if Scotty has another country hit on his hands. Plus, Scotty has turned in an assured vocal. Our Idol teen is all growed up!
All I’ve got right now is poor quality sound cloud audio. But you’ll get the idea. If better quality audio turns up, I’ll be sure to post it here.

UPDATE: Scotty’s “Southern Belle” release has been pushed back to September. The song has been taken off Soundcloud. Sorry guys, looks like you’re going to have to wait a few months to hear it!
